Hi there,

does any one have any tips on getting spray tanning pop up tents down??? Me and my tent have a very on off relationship! and alot of the time its fine but every now and again it apparently bends out of shape and i cant for the life of me get it down... ive been quite lucky so far and its not happened at a clients house but i am scared that it might do! and the only person who can get it down is my bro and he lives 2 hours away!!! not good!!!!

Its a fakebake tent and any tips or advise would be greatly appreciated!?

Thanks

Julia

Hi Julia

I too often have to 'have words' with my tent. I've had it quite a few years now and every now an again it plays up  The only thing I do is to keep putting it up and down until the frame snaps back round the right way. I've had it happen a few times at customers houses and its v. embarrassing :o

Your definately not the only one. Think I have mine sussed now but when I first got it, it spent a lot of time in my hall way, flat but could not for the life of me fold it back to go in the bag. Spent many a frustrating evening trying to do it - watched the videos, read the instructions but did it want to play ball....... absolutely not...... even had to get my friend down one evening to fold it away

however fingers crossed it seems to find its own way now when I do it so hopefully now all ok

Frustrating though for sure :D

Ha I am aways having 'fights' with my tent. They can be grumpy buggers!! Sometimes they just dont wanna go down and it can be very frustrating!! The more worked up you get the harder it is to get it down.. I have often thrown mine into the car all squished up in temper :D and believe me i have plenty of experience in putting it up and down but sometimes it just acts up ;)

I have mine sussed now but jeez I did used to have problems with it at first, I remember in 1 house I just couldnt manage it and the lady and her mum kept saying let me do it I know how to do it! but trying to explain to them there is a certain way and they may sprain it if they do it wrong so I wouldnt let them, but they did insist! needless to say I couldnt do it so took the tent home in my car just folded flat and bent in the back of the car!!! lockily it didnt pop open on the journey home;)

Anyhow I watched a few videos on youtube and now I can get it down no problems, the way I do it is...

fold the tent in so its flat.

then put the top (narrowest end) on the floor and hold the floor end in your hands (widest ends) with one hand at each corner.

hold the tent with your hands so your thumbs are at the underneath and bend the tent in half (fold the bottom over towards the top of the tent) so if you looked at it from the side view it looks like the letter C.

Then bend a little furter so its touching the top like the letter O.

Then you may need to re-adjust your hands so the you canbend the left corner under and inwards (towards your legs, into the middle of the tent), then bend the right hand corner in too and luckily it should all go together into a circle ready to go in the bag.

I dont know if that makes sense at all!!!
hopefully it will x

But I recommend you watch a youtube of it or a tutorial if theres any on here.

Good luck xxx

Hi

I lay mine down, fold length ways

Pick up the fattest end and lift and flick

thumbs on top and first fingers underneath

flick up towards you and twist at the same time as soon as you see a round twist bring it in

Practice Practice Practice

I'm having issues as well. Now it's shaped like a peanut and won't lay flat. Does anyone have experience with this? Can this seeming damage be reversed? I tried putting it up and down a couple times. It seems to stand okay, but still can't get it back in the bag because it is now a weird shape.

Any suggestions would be welcomed..

Thanks
Colleen

lulu its probably just twisted out of shape, try folding it down again and again until you get it to go the right way, it will probably 'snap' back into shape but wont break.

once you have mastered it and it gets used to being folded you will find it will remember what way to bend and you will be doing it in 10 seconds - literally! :wink2:

Oh the joys we all have with these tents is amazing, my first client and i was stood outside in her garden screaming at mine, in the end i bent it the best i could and threw it in the car..... embarrasing was not the word. after watching videos etc and hours i eventually got it down and then just practised...

I now got there and as others have said put the small (top) end to the floor against the skirting board bend the fat (bottom) end to the small and you should instantly feel it wanting to bend in to the circle for the bag, if not turn it over (yes i was that dumb and that why mine looked like a peanut) and do it again, just be careful though that it does not do what mine does ( it hates been beat) flick back at you. Mine even hates going on outings because when im opening it it tries breading every bone in my body (it just faster than i am lol).

Hope you win

After having several struggles with getting my tent to fold away I you tubed and this is the way I fold down my tent and it goes EVERY time. When I searched I found a different video but I cannot seem to find it today - but the way shown is how I do my tent and it works everytime without fail.

HTH

YouTube - Norvell Pop-Up OverSpray Tent Folding Instructions (Video Module 6)

P.S - it's just to show how I fold away my tent not advertising/promoting the tanning company who did the video.

Dont know if youve sorted it by now but i was having the same problem, watched all the videos and still couldnt do it. Turned out when the tent was fully open before it was made flat i had folded the wrong corner in first. Fully pop open your tent and fold the opposite side in first then it should all go into place, it worked for me. Hope this makes sense x
