Hi guys

I've just been reading through Gigi's nail prep tut and thinking about it, my current nail tech who does my nails and thinking some more, the girls who have done my nails before (at a different place) never have done any of this. When I very first went and had nail enhancements, the girl had a card to fill in all about me, which I thought was great, asked me about nut allergies (almonds in solar oil?) etc.

I changed nail tech when that girl left and went to a friends hair salon as she employed a lady who she used to work with in a different place to 'do' nails. The lady who does my nails now is really busy and always has a full book, I need to book in with her when I've had my nails done as I won't be able to get in otherwise.

Would you class her as NSS?

no.. because i wouldnt ever judge another nail tech purely on what you have described..

If your unhappy with her find another tech.. never ever settle for anything less then what you want or expect from a nail proffessional.

If your friend has employed her talk to her.. i have to say that if she is as booked as you say then she may well be doing something right.. but again thats not always the case either..

what is it that concerns you? is it that she does her prep differently to geeg's? or is she damaging your nails?

Hi guys

The lady who does my nails now is really busy and always has a full book, I need to book in with her when I've had my nails done as I won't be able to get in otherwise.

If she has a full book, she must be doing something right.
Different systems have different prep routines

Oh, don't get me wrong! She's great, my nails actually are better than ever and she fitted me in at really short notice when one of my nails cracked down the middle. I can't fault her. I just wondered because of the preparation work, or lack of it. xx

As nailzoo said it depends on what system she is using as they have different prep routines.

Thanks for your replies :)

It's just I know she's Creative trained and has been doing it for 6 or 7 years. Also as I am going to be training with Creative and read Geeg's tut, I just thought it was a little odd. But as I said, my nails don't lift (even after I couldn't get to her for nearly 4 weeks) and just had the one problem with one of my nail tips cracking and that cracked the acrylic (same thumb twice in two weeks) but I'm happy with the way she does them.

Thanks again guys. xx
