I did a CND foundation L&P course a year ago. I haven't touched my nail stuff now for about 4 months. Do I give up, forget that I even tried or go on a refresher and try again? I don't know what to do and I feel I've wasted a lot of money on something I find too hard......:irked: I work full time now doing something completely different and something I don't particularly enjoy but it brings in really good money. I just don't know whether to try again or just attempt to enjoy what I'm doing..... Does anyone else do a few hours in a salon 'helping out'...just wondering if this would be a route for me??? Not been on here for ages either....its good to read stuff again!

gosh whats your gut feeling? I sense that you dont REALLY want to give up, is that right? look, we cant tell you what to do but why not get your kit out, have a play, a try. read your notes and get some sets done. then, see how you feel.... maybe you could see if any salons needs someone to make the tea and answer calls in exchange for some time observing the techs? (just a thought) xxxxx

If you truly have a passion for it and want to do this then I dont think you shouldnt give up! I took a break as well when I was learning and it can be good to start fresh again. If you keep practicing and dont give up YOU WILL GET THERE!! My nails go swimmingly now, at some point it all comes together and it feels soo good when it does.

I find it helps to take it sloow and really THINK about every single step and master it!!

If you wanted to give up, then you wouldn't be back on here reading posts and asking for support. So .... go for it! Pick up your brush and get practising girl! See how you get on and if you feel you need a refresher then you should be able to sort one out without too much trouble. I'm sure it will come back to you much more quickly than you think.

Best of luck

I did nails for 8 years then gave up for 4! I have recently got back into it and im now loving it again.

Like you i work full time & sometimes find it hard to practise on an evening. I have just had a week without doing any nails and tonight i have been practising my smile lines! I can't wait to try again tomorrow..

I think it can be harder when you can't totally devote your time to it, I find im at work and all i can think about is getting home to practise nowadays.

I hope you pick up your brush and have a go again.... And hopefully feel that passion that you did before :) xxx

dont give up :) like one of the other posts said you wouldnt be on here and questioning it if you knew you wanted to quit! take a 1 to 1 if you need to and you could be doing some clients after work or at the weekend? iv took a full time job on aswell and i miss doing nails so much but i defenitley dont want to give up, i just hit a wee rough patch and il start again! :) good luck xxx
