Thinking of going mobile just on my days of work or early finishes... not too sure where to start... I already work on family and friends, got a few people interested so far.

I would like to concerntrate on acrylic and gel extensions and manicures

I would like to know how much to charge? dont want to rip of my family been charging £20 a full set with extenstion. Im using millennium if this helps

What bits do i need? Ive managed to get a table from argos.

The best places to get bits in bulk i.e cotton pads, consumables

I would like a cheap but good quality uv lamp, I have looked on ebay but they look dodgy. What do you think? They're £25

Thanks

For your bits and bobs....

There are places like Capital hair and Beauty or Sally's

You will have to take your Cert with you as proof

Underlying it all is good training, but assuming you have that I suggest you start with public laibility insurance, essential when working on the public.

You need to charge enough to cover your costs and make yourself a profit. I charge £35 for a full set and £25 for a rebalance but those prices are going up this year. I'm full-time mobile.

Your working kit, a daylight lamp, extension lead, protective cover for surfaces......

Surely this was covered on your training?

Ebay is not the place to buy professional equipment. You need the lamp that goes with your gel system, again this should have been covered in your training.

Thanks

Mobile work is hard but very rewarding. You need a good base of training, money to invest in advertising and the confidence to stick with it.

Edited to add: I've just checked out your previous posts and you are not trained. You will not be able to get insurance and should not be working on the paying public. Finish your training then think about setting yourself up in business.

Dont intend on working the public just family, friends, and friends of friends. nothing major. just mind went blank on what i need, needed a reminder on little things that i had forgotton. Im training now again, whilst finishing off my level 3 beauty. I dont need to advertise just texting people, and info over facebook. it would only be one day a week as work in a salon 6 days a week

you would still need insurance if you are planning on working on friends of friends. While your family might forgive you the odd mistake there is no guarantee that friends or friends of friends will.

You are better to be covered totally covered as you never know what might happen. Especially if you are not fully trained.
