Hi

I'm going to be adding spray tanning to my treatment list shortly. I must admit over all the shopping around I've done for the spray gun equiptment I really like the look of the MaxiMist products. Please could you advise me if there are any negatives with these or any specific recommendations. It's a mobile service I offer and mainly do nails so I don't think I will do loads but expect a few a week. Thanks in advance, vicky xxx

I have the maximist evolution and love it. Its also a very quiet machine which helps massively. It comes with 3 guns and you simply click and spray!

I personally didn't get on with it I sent back as has few issues I love my ts20

You maybe able to trial one if you could fine someone near to you that has one. It has really reduced the amount of solution I use too which is better on the £££.. average about 30-40ml now per full body.

I agree with Taralass , love my maximist evolution, and you do seem to use a lot less solution !

I love my Evolution TNT.
If you are planning on doing only a few/ several per week possibly the SprayMate would be better for you. (Cheaper and smaller but can't cope with high demand of tans in one day / sitting).
If Tanning Parties are a possibility I would say go for the Evolution TNT ;)

All the best! :)

I have been looking at the spraymate, but tanning parties are always a possibility but I don't think would happen a lot.

Probably asking a stupid question but what do you mean it wouldn't cope with high demand? I doubt I would do more than 10 in 1 day. (With a party)

I specialise in nails so this Is more of an add on treatment if that makes sense :) Tia xx

Hi,
10 + per day is fine I would say. But if its a tanning party of say 7 in one go you would be best giving the unit a break after a few so not to overload the motor.
With breaks between tans prepping for the next client etc the unit should have some time to cool whilst doing a party.

I hope this helps a little :)

I have the hvlp maximise xl. I've had it since 2010. Have problems now and then with intermittent spraying and sometimes it overheats and screeches at me but its 5 years old so can't complain! Would buy again

Oh I do find though it takes way over the usual 50ml to do a full body spray. I use suntana solution on setting 5.

I hope you have sorted your applicator BronzeBeauties,
With the Helia applicator 50 ml is doable - I had the unit myself for some time.

I have said there is a tutorial on Suntana which should help you take the gun apart and reassemble but there are a couple of steps which are very important
  • hold trigger when assembling again until all parts are back on (hold trigger after needle is inserted)
  • ensure you don't over tighten the air cap ring (the final ring part) tighten with one finger is a good trick.
:)

Thanks for everyone's help, so tempted to go for the evolution. But thinking the spraymate is enough for what I need. I'm always getting carried away with things like this lol. Next up is finding a brand to use, will be asking for samples though to make my own mind up but crazy angel seems to be top of the list for recommendations :)

Thank you. I managed to get the needle out and gave it all a good clean, still getting intermittent spray though :(

Hi BronzeBeauties,
Have you checked for any blockages in the fluid tip? As the tip is so fine small particles can build up.

Is the trigger defiantly being pressed until all parts are back on and air cap ring tight without being too tight?
If the air cap ring is too lose the dial will often spin all the way round without stopping at 1 and 8 (I think the dial went up to 8, possibly 10?). and if its too lose you would need to be on a high setting (5/6) to get anything out at all.

If all that is ok I would think there isn't anything more you can do with it :(
