My web page is registered on Google and it has been very successfull so far.

I have just had a text say "URGENT, sharon's beautique has lost positions in the search engines. Call 0844 ... or txt EMS to 60066 immediately"

This worries me cos I did ignore this a few months back and my listing was then "suspended" from google! I did get it reinstated eventually.
I am just unsure if this is a con or not so am wary of calling or texting.
Has anyone had this before?

I got it..i didn't do anything though as wasn't sure if it was genuine or what.. :/

Completely ignore it...its a scam!!!

It's a fairly old one. Theres no way Google would send an individual a text message.

Enfuriates me as someone who works on the web (and helps people design websites) that theres still these snake-oil salesmen out there- and its ALWAYS search engineering.

Even my own salon is getting phone-calls from these idiots.

If you get an email, a text or a phone call from "search engine companies" you ought to completely ignore it.

Thanks so much!

Not sure why my account was removed previously that why i connected the earlier text to it.

I will ignore it,

Would anyone happen to know how I could bring my new Minx treatments up when someone searches for it on google. At the moment when i type in spray tan, nails etc and the town i live in, my page appears. I did add the word minx to my categories but as yet it won't bring my page up with the word minx plus my town?

Grr, I really hate those scammers! They're the sort of people that lie to you (often claiming they work for Google, or similar BS), blind you with science, and then end up charging you silly money for very little! Usually, companies like that have a big sales team and only one or two techies doing the actual work! As well as having extremely questionable terms & conditions that are almost always biased in their favour - once you sign up to them and part with your money, it's virtually impossible to get it back! They treat their sales call as a "verbal contract" - and you'll probably not have much luck even if you try and phone the bank up to do a "Section 75" credit card refund!

I get these as well and I completely ignore them. I have also had phonecalls claiming the person ringing was from google and that they would garentee to get me listed very high up on google. My gut instinct said something was a miss so i simply sai i wasn't interested at all and hung up

I get them regularly and always ignore them.Damned annoying:irked:

My friend got this message a while ago, paid £250 on her card to get bumped up to the top of google search. They charged her card twice for it. Guess what? nothing happened to her listing. :irked:
Any messages from google can be viewed by loging into your google account.

Actually, the company responsible for the text the original poster received is called EMS Internet, Affordable Web Site Design - Web Design Warrington | EMS Internet Ltd - who charge a whopping £195 per year for a 4-page website, £495 for a 6-page website, £995 for a 10-page website, and £499 for logo design - I bet they're laughing all the way to the bank with those prices!!!

I had one of these too, made me laugh because I've never had a single customer from google or yell.com. Plenty of people wanting to sell me advertising:rolleyes: and I've asked both of these companies not to put my name up because I don't trade at this time. Do any of them listen? Em no:irked:
