Grey coverage

Hi all,
I have a question on covering grey hair. My Aunty who regularly colours her hair to cover her greys. For years this has been happening, where the colour doesn’t take/bond to her hair. She uses permanent hair colour.(Nothing boxed from the supermarket, as we’ve been told that kind of hair colour isn’t great quality.)And usually the colour will only last about 8days. Almost every two weeks she has to colour her hair. Also uses colour lasting shampoo and conditioner.
Is it normal that the colour is not bonding with her hair? And is the colour not lasting as long due to the certain hair care products she’s using?

Impossible to guess accurately without a lot more info. about the colour products/developer used, etc.

But… based on what you’ve said so far, if she’s re-applying a permanent colour onto sections of the hair that were recently coloured, it’s probably become porous and therefore, no oxidising colour will last. She’ll have to try using a semi instead.

Is she a qualified hairdresser? She may be making basic errors if she hasn't been trained.
