Hi everyone!

Okay so last night I had 2 girls come to me for a new set of gel nails. (yes, both of them) One of the girls had been to me back in September, but never came for a fill, though she never called with any problems and actually referred a couple of girls to me (go figure!) I did a new set on both of them, same prep as I always do...the nails looked great and I sent them on their way. Today, less than 24 hours after they left, I get a phone call that BOTH of them have lifting at the sidewalls...when I asked how many nails were lifting, she said she had 5 or 6! ARGHHHH! I have several clients who only come once a month who have NO lifting...actually I only have one client who experiences any kind of lifting, but she is a 16 year old very active girl who could really do with coming to see me every week her nails grow so fast, so I don't really count her.

Both girls are coming by at noon tomorrow so I can fix the nails, but does anyone have ANY advice as to what may have gone awry? LESS THAN 24 HOURS! How the h*ll? For those who may ask, I use nailbasics gel.

Thanks in advance folks....I'm grumpy and stressing out here lol

Hiya i really dont no much about gel and im only in training but my teacher say lifting occurs in 24 hrs if it has touched the sin or if there is even the slightest bit of skin on nail plate?

thanks Lea...I could agree with that if it was a one time type of thing...me having an off day or whatever, but I am SUPER careful with my application, especially on a new set, and this just doesn't happen to me...and definitely not on 2 clients at a time, 5 or 6 nails at a time. I'd like to think I'm not alone here and that we ALL have an off day and the gel touches skin...it happens sometimes, but certainly not like this...

lordy lol I'm all worked up again

hi ... although i dont do gel, i have one client (a police officer of all people..lol) who no matter what lifted, so i switched to another line of primer..no lifting at all....go figure. just different product brand cured it...but i would check to see if they are olifting or if they are doing something that caused this. one client i have had a habit of twisting her nails from side wall to side wall when she was nervous. so she had lifting frim the sides as well.

Both girls are coming by tomorrow so I'll have a real good look to see if it's actually lifting, or if there's been some "help." Just frustrating because I don't have this issue with my other clients. I guess tomorrow will tell the tale lol!

Wait to see what they look like. Often you will find clients exaggerate what is going on. You will see clearly if you have touched the skin, which I doubt you have. I am not familiar with the brand you use but you are so that should not be a problem. I did a client today who had just oiled her hands before I arrived! Maybe they did something like this and some traces were left. You may never find what went wrong, sometimes there just does not seem to be an obvious answer. Just put things right and they should be pleased. Good luck :)

So...

BOTH of them no-showed on me today. I tried calling and got no answer so I stewed all afternoon lol.

WHY ARE PEOPLE LIKE THIS!?!

I have half a mind to call them and tell them to not bother coming on the 7th for a fill. (I won't of course, but I have a feeling it will be another no show)

What would you do in my position?

Do you think they will show up for the fills if they didn't turn up for this and not answering now? Sorry - don't want to put a downer on it - just looking at the situation.
You just get some who are awkward - don't worry - move on.
xx
