Well what a week!

My friend who I trained and who became the Spanish Nail Champion 2 years ago was taken ill in her salon suddenly this week ... right in the middle of doing a client.

She rang and asked if I could come right away and take over.

Now as most of you may know, I retired from the salon about 15 years ago and have since spent my life distributing, teaching, demonstrating, writing, geeking and only doing a few nails as and when I feel like it.

So ... being asked to go into the salon and do 10 clients a day (on the hour every hour ... whether it was full sets, rebalances, custom blends or French rebalances ... was a challenge and a half!

But guess what??? I did it! I was knackered after 3 days but I DID it! And I loved every minute. And the nails looked good too! Even the full set I had to do in 50 minutes because the client was late and had to start work in 50 minutes!! :irked:

I have to say that following in the footsteps of a great technician does make life allot easier ... her clients are well trained and there weren't many disasters but on the hour every hour was relentless and brought back many memories of 'how it used to be' ... AND of course it is near Christmas so it was very hectic but exhilarating.

So much respect to all you peeps who are working so hard ... Only one more week and then you can relax a bit!!

So much for taking things easy then Geeg x x x

Well done for being there for a friend in need.

Well Geeg you certainly deserve a good rest over Christmas after this!!

It must have been a shock being thrown in at the deep end like that, but with your experience and professionalism it wouldn't have been a struggle at all.

I hope your friend will be back in good health soon.
A busy technicians worst nightmare must be to take ill during the busiest weeks of the year. She is lucky she has a friend like yourself able and willing to step in.

Oh bless you babe have a chill and get Simon running around for you was it Jo you was helping hope she is ok

Told ya you are never to old!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol

I wish I could phone you up to come and take over mine!! Mind you, I don't have a lot of clients so most of the time would be spent tea drinking and chatting!

Well Done Geeg! I can't wait until I get busy like that!

xx

geeg when i read all you do i wonder how you draw breath......what a wonderful person to have to take over when needed, you should hire yourself out gigi, we would come running

Gigi - what a true friend you are  I would have never doubted for a moment that you wouldn't have stepped upto the challenge AND succeeded :green:

Life is strange - we never know when there are going to be sharp twists and turns and sometimes that is a good thing otherwise we would never get up on a morning for fear of the unknown!

Have a good rest over the next coming couple of weeks - YOU deserve it

What a great friend you are - you must be shattered. Have a rest now:)

Wow! I was tired out just reading that!

Hope you friend gets well soon x

This is always a nightmare for me, the thought of what do do if I was too ill for a few days.

How wonderful for your friend to have someone a super spectacular as you to jump in and take over the clients. I hope they did not give you too much of a hard time - did they realise who they were dealing with!!!!! .

This week is super mega busy, according to my diary however, my 1st lady is a no-show:irked:. I know she's having a few problems & she's probably flown to San Francisco, I'll ring her later & check.

Well done, now feet up & get a cuppa - well deserved!

Allot of the clients have given her (yes it was Jo Dawnie) a ring and one said,
"I like your apprentice she did very well"!! We thought that was so funny. I'm sort of missing all the hustle and bustle now! Simon's in the UK so no one is running around after me but me!

You serve a well earned Christmas feet up now!!!
Nice to hear you helped a friend in need!

Hiya,

Much respect to you!!! I think I would have had a nervous breakdown if I'd have had to follow in the steps of a NAIL CHAMPION!!!! I'd be feeling like I'd got a lot to live up to!!!! However, if your a trainer you must be really good and seeing as you trained your friend as well she must of known you could do it!!!!

I do beauty and nails and I opened my own beauty room & nail bar about 16 months ago. Three other new beauty salons have opened in my first year of business and another one as sort of expanded a bit so I'm still building clients up. I've found it a bit hard as I'm tucked away next door to a hair salon up a few stairs. I don't seem to get much business from the hair salon I'm next to. I find this a bit odd as I'd say about 90% of the clients I've managed to get have their hair done somewhere else. I suppose it could be cos they do a lot of old ladies with perms etc.

I have just started a part time job working at another beauty salon last week as well as my own to try and supplement my income a bit. This salon is about 10 miles away from my salon. I think its going to be a challenge trying to juggle the two and I'm not sure how it will all pan out trying to split myself between the two, especially on Thursdays and Saturdays when I have to do a "split shift"!!!!

Has anyone else ever done this? Do you think it's just another one of my crazy ideas?

Love
Mrs Bean!:):green:xxxxxxxxx
P.S. This week I'm gonna be mega busy with it being Christmas week!!!!

Well done Gigi:hug:. Shes lucky to have a friend like you!

BTW I'm a bit busy next week too and would love a hand..............:lol::lol:

YOU GO GIRL !!!
