I’ve searched for past posts but I’m not having much joy.

I am looking for recommendations for hair extension training please?
Ideally within the midlands area if possible but happy to travel if needs be.

I am a bridal hair & makeup specialist and I find myself referring my clients to other extension technicians all the time. Id love to offer my clients a better lever of service from start to finish without having to send them elsewhere.

Thank you so much ☺️

A few of the girls in the salon trained with SJK hair extensions. They loved the training and found it very nowledgeable x

Thank you I will look them up.
I’ve been looking b at LA Weave today. They look quite good from the reviews I’ve read.

I trained with km hair extensions and it was a good informative day! was a nice sized group so plenty of time for the tutor to get round us all. The tutor was very knowledgeable and used to be a an extension tech herself so could answer all questions given to her :) x

Thabk you for the feedback. This is who I was looking at. As far as I can see these are the same or at least the affiliate company of LA Weave. I’ve exchanged a few messages with them earlier this evening and the information they have shared so far has been very informative and they seem very happy to help. X

Oh ok, that’s makes sense then :)

I’ve only had styling training with hair. I’m not a hairdresser by trade. So I can’t cut &/or colour hair.

Do you think it is still possible to do hair extensions without having the experience of cutting & colouring hair?

I’m used to styling & blowdrying hair for my bridal bookings. X

I am the same Hun! Except I only ever styled my own hair  so it’s a brand new thing to me! I have all my friends on stand by to be my models so I can practice the cutting and blending! I only went on the course last Sunday aswell so I am still practicing with my training head but they are so hard to work with  xx

This is reassuring to hear that it’s possible to do. I guess it’s like anything really. The more we practice the skill the better it gets. It’s just an expensive outlay isn’t it. But I guess for friend and family we can offer 6 months of free fitting with the purchase of the hair at the cost of the wearer. X

I trained with Belle a few weeks ago and am only at the beginning of an NVQ L2 in Hairdressing so don't have a huge amount of stylist knowledge. I have done 2 friends so far and they loved it. I was a bit disappointed though. Am trying something else on on friend next week. Am not going to start offering my services to paying clients until I have got it right on my friends and feel confident. I don't have a huge amount of people willing to pay for the hair and let me practise on them though which means progress is frustratingly slow. Nevermind. We will get there xx

This is my only worry is that I won’t get enough practice as the hair is not cheap is it. I love styling hair though so I am excited to get started. I’m booking my training with KM in January. I’m doing the glue free course which includes a few different methods. I hoping this will be a good starting point
I’m fairly quiet January through to mid February so hoping this will give me time to practice too. X

I trained with belle in 2013 & it was a complete disaster course, I would never recommend them. You get the certification whether you are good or bad.

Totally agree Charlotte. Am thinking of going on a different one.

Beauty works courses are amazing but they are in Manchester sadly for me!

I trained with Oakley academy and would definitely recommend them but I would say you need some previous knowledge of extensions because you can’t learn everything in one day x x

Thank you for your reply.
I don’t have much knowledge of experience from a personal point of view as I’m fortunate enough to have long thick hair. So this is a worry to me as I am aware how different it must be to wear it.
I have been doing a lot of reading up and research. I also like the fact with KM they did say that it doesn’t have to all be completed in one day. If I don’t master one of the techniques I’d be invited back to a future date. So this is reassuring to hear. X
