Hi all Extensionists,

I need your expertise. Iam a hairdresser.

My sister had a full head of extensions fitted about 5/6 weeks ago. She was told it was spanish hair, but for €180 I had my doubts.
She has fine hair but a good bit of it, in good condition, she is an apprentice hairdresser herself.
Anyway she started to lose a couple, which I told her it was normal to lose 1 or 2. However recently more have been coming out. She has lost 7 in the last 3 days. When I looked at the extension that came out there was a lot of her own hair in it, now I know hair sheds etc.
Though when I looked closely at the bond it was a complete clump of her own hair that had come out. I checked her head and she does have signs of traction alopecia.
The bonds are really thick on some and real skinny on others. I think the weight of the extension wasnt evenly distributed so some are too heavy to be supported by her own hair?
So I've advised her to take them out. I'm gonna do it for her, as she is just too broke to pay someone else to do it.
Can anyone advise the best thing to use, as so many extensionists here recommend different things. I took mine out by breaking the bond then applying acetone to the bond and they slid out
Also, do you know of any magic shampoo that will keep the rest of her hair in tip top condition?

Thanks

She's better going to someone trained in fitting and removal of extensions.

I know moneys tight for alot of people at the minute, but extensions cost money.

If there as bad as you say call the girl who fitted them. She might offer free or discounted removal x

I agree with the post above, different bonds need different remover, the girl may discount her removal if she explains the situation.

Also she may have stated in the consultation disclaimer that they need to be removed.by a professional Which means if something goes wrong she can take no responsibility for it.

See a professional! Her hair is damaged enough by the sounds of it. X
