Hi everyone. I’ve had a really bad hair salon disaster and I hope someone can give me some advice of what to do.

I was white blonde full head highlights and I decided to let my natural roots grow ( 3 months ) and then get a root stretch / balyage effect.

This is what I’ve ended up with. It’s not blended at all and the “baby lights” around the front of my face are too harsh agains the coppery brown colour root. ( I’m naturally ashy root and I look awful with any sort of warm root) please tell me how I go forward with this. I’m crying my eyes out. I’m not going back there as this is her attempt of a fix aswell. The colour before was even more ginger.

I’ve also included pics of what I showed the woman.

Okay the pics I showed her won’t upload to here as there too big. I basically showed her a regular soft balyage effect

Good grief! That’s truly awful. I’m not surprised you’re very upset.

If the dark section is your natural root then for a decent colourist, it should have been fairly straightforward to blend it down into the highlighted hair and add a few balayage pieces. However, that’s not something that a recently qualified or less experienced hairdresser should attempt as it does require a high degree of skill to do it seamlessly and I would expect a good colourist to charge accordingly.

You really need to visit an experienced colourist now to put it right because the highlighted areas look pretty damaged from the pics you’ve uploaded. I wouldn’t use permanent colour or bleach on that hair at the moment, otherwise you risk carrying most of your hair home in a bag.

Use a very gentle sulphate free shampoo and some treatment masks in the meantime and visit a few salons and ask for a consultation and go with your gut instinct to choose someone highly competent.

Best of luck to you.
