Morning geeks I have a client/friend who has been using a cheese grater style foot file! its looks like she has almost taken a chunk out of her heel, now its heeled (excuse the pun) its grown back even worse, really hard lump. Does anybody have any tips to make it better?

with OPI we have a pedicure product called Soften... you massage it into hard/tough skin and let it for a little while and well, it softens the skin... and it smells nice too, not a strong smell but not a medical one either.

I know there are little bottles, so it may be worse a try for your friend (or retail ;))

Hi would highly recommend the Heel Peel ! That stuff works miracles !

Here is a link from a Geek that did us some before and after shots...

Also, just regular maintenance of her heels that doesn't include the cheese grater would also help reduce the excess skin and also prevent her heels from becoming "overgrown" and cracked.

Obviously, also using a good heel cream such as CND Cucumber Heel Therapy every day will do her the world of good

Allpresan. The stuff works miracles I swear.

Just last week I did a pedicure on very rough feet, I used the Allpresan callus softener spray and cracked heel foam. The lady called this week with a 'complaint', her feet were so smooth she could barely keep her sandles on.

She was extrememly happy.

I swear by these products. They retail well too.

Does anyone know if you can get this in the uk? It sounds great!

Tammy Taylors Callus Soft with a lovely peach fraguance :green:

It is actually a German company, and if we can get it here in Canada, one would assume that it can be purchased in the UK, right?

There is a site online to purchase, and they advertise the lowest prices.
Allpresan

Good luck, happy hunting. (Completely worth it-BTW)

OK, so at the risk of being unpopular, I will tell you a sure fire method for all clients who have a huge cracking and callus problem, as well as, for the client with not much problem at all. Sallys' Beauty, (who we pros do not use often because they sell to the puplic) but they have a foot file called a CHECHI' FOOT FILE (medium grit, only the medium) it comes in a pro version, (larger purple handle) and it comes in a smaller medium grit with a creme colored handle. I LOVE LOVE LOVE, the one with the creme handle. If you instruct your clients to file a tiny (TINY) bit each day. ONLY with their feet DRY!!!!! The secret is that the feet must be dry. it will file like sand paper with very little stress to the skin (which is what causes callus to become even worse) It will improve tons right before your eyes. And almost all your clients will want to go home with one. (retail for two times your cost) I use HEMP lotion (by Supre) which I understand is expensive in UK but well worth it. I love the stuff and it works a charm. Most of the "cremes" for callus have Salacylic acid as their active ingredient which is very caustic (ie: ACID), and to me, does not work very well long term. You will have some of the happiest clients in the land, and they will return with soft feet which will make your job easier. Just be sure to tell them not to over do because it will take too much! I always tell them that a little dab'll do.:green::green::green:
