Hi guys!
I'm just curious if you use hard wax for eyebrow wax?
If so- do you use it for everyone or sensitive skin or all clients?

I use it on all facial waxing and wouldn't dream of using strip wax on the face, i also use it when intimate waxing. Hope that helps :)

Only hot wax on the face, underams, bikini, brazilian and crack. I would never dream of using strip wax on these places - it is far too aggressive for the delicate skin in these areas.

I use hot wax for the face for all clients and they love it, it is so much more gentle on their skin.

Hot wax under brows and between but strip wax gives a lovely sharp line on top of the brows (fine hairs). Also, hot wax doesn't remove tint stains but strip wax does.

I use hot wax for lips and chins as its better at grabbing strong hairs but I find strip wax more precise for brows.Ive never had any problem with grazing or trauma.

I use hot wax unless I'm doing HD Brows and then I use strip wax.
The therapist who works with me always uses strip wax on brows and has done for the last 15 years. She does 30+ sets of brows a week and never had a problem. She will use hot wax on the rest of the face.

do you need a certain pot for hot wax, or will any wax pot do?

I use hard wax on facial under arm and bikini find its alot gentler on the skin, not alot of redness after and my clients love it compared to strip wax

Thank you so much for your feedback ladies!
I have been doing waxing forever. Certified in 1996 I believe.
We learned both hard and soft wax. I found the hard wax to be more difficult to use and when I started working in a salon we used soft wax for everything
I only do facial waxing now and found a really good soft wax that I've been using for a while. it's has a beautiful elasticity and it can be applied very thin snd it's super fast to use.
My clients say that whenever I do their wax they have way less irritation (I use tiny bit of oil pre wax which helps immensely)
I always stay away from doing waxing on people that use retin-a, aha, had recent peels, laser or sunburn
Recently I was doing a tint on a client who is a nurse and is a very renowned skin care specialist who performed Botox, fillers etc
I know she uses retin a so I tweezed her brows.
She said that I should use hard wax (which I have, I use it for inner nose) on her brows and it should be ok
That spiked my curiosity and I proceeded to wax MY OWN lip (and I use retin a).
Well, my skin is perfect! No redness whatsoever
It actually grabbed all the fine hairs! I was always under impression that the hard wax doesn't grab fine, short hairs well

I just might switch to hard wax ;)
I have Gigi cream wax, what do you think about Cirepil blue wax?

What are your thoughts on hard wax and retin a users?

Cierpil blue is a good non strip wax. Get a sample and try it for yourself. In the UK we have Euroblonde which is the same as blue. Although Cierpil Blue may soon be available also in the Uk as part of the Perron Rigot wax range.

Same type of wax heater for our non strip wax that you use for strip wax just different temperature.

Thank you so much for your reply!
What's your take on waxing and retin a use?
Ps. How would you describe Cirepil Brow System Visage?

Sorry to jump in on this one Anna but I'd be very careful. Although it could be ok for some clients using Retin A, it only takes one and you could scar them and be sued. Check with your insurance.

Oh no, by any means! Thank you for commenting!
As far as I remember the insurance only stipulated not to wax over moles/skin tags. I will double check

The Cierpil Visage has just recently been launched here in the UK. Its a great wax for fine facial hairs as well as brows and ear waxing. It has a coconut oil base applied at a slightly lower temperature and the seems gentle on the skin. I also use it for nostril waxing. It comes in 400g bags so great if you only want a small or petite wax heater with a little of this wax. At recent discovery days the people who tried the wax all really liked it.

I'm going to get this in for facial waxing. I find Eurobond doesn't pick up the very fine blonde ones aswell as strip wax so hopefully this will be better :)

Finally my Cirepil Blue (Euroblond) wax arrived (by accident I was sent Crystal Ocean? that I had to send back).... and I have to say.... I LOOOVE it.
Compare to the other hard wax I used it picked up all fine and short hairs (lip/chin), even the short, soft re-growth I had from 2 weeks ago from my upper lip. I'm impressed!
I like how creamy and flexible it is and how it has a perfect consistency at a very low temperature (I barely felt it on my skin)
Also, how do I say- painless? Seriously! No irritation either!

My distributor does not carry the Eurose and Visage yet. I now don't even think need Eurose but I would love to try Visage :)

I'm used to strip wax (even for facial waxing) and my clients didn't experience irritation, just the initial bit for redness with some people but I'm gonna switch to this one. I think it's gonna cause less irritation altogether

I think if you are used to strip wax you might be not applying enough pressure while applying the wax. Soft wax is applied without any pressure really.
I find when I started applying little more pressure, the wax grabbed the hair better.
Just an initial observation.

I do apply pressure, ive used hot wax for a while. I just find it doesn't pickup the tiny downy hairs. Maybe other people have found the same and that's why they have brought out visage.

But either way I would like to try it.

That's why I ended up using strip wax too on the face. One salon I worked at had two hot waxes one for face and one for u/a and brazilians. We used Lycojet for the face only as it did pick up all the fine downy hairs (but was too expensive to use all over the body!) and kept the cheaper one where the fine and downy ones didn't really matter.

I've got to retrain myself in hot wax again as I do think it will be more gentle for the skin than strip. I've not had much luck so far. Note to self - apply more pressure!
