The November issue of Health & Beauty Salon magazine is to be the last, it has been announced.

The title, which has been running for 30 years, has suffered from the recession, the publisher Reed Business Information confirmed. It blamed "unprecedented market recession which slashed all advertising volumes massively".

Publisher Jane Lewis-Orr said in an email to subscribers: “It is with great regret that we are announcing the closure of our monthly beauty title, Health and Beauty Salon. In these circumstances Health and Beauty Salon will continue to sustain losses in 2010 and 2011 - and the market is now not large enough to support this high quality title.”

The last issue of the monthly title will be published on 28 October.

Oh what a shame, when I was a student and for many years since being qualified this was one of my favourite magazines, I for one will sorely miss my monthly fix!

Ditto

So we only have two industry magazines left now ?

I thought this magazine disappeared over ten years ago, obviously not a great marketing campaign on there behalf as I generally sign up to anything. I love reading all trade mags so its a shame cause now I have heard of it I would have probably paid to read it LOL!

I agree, I've been trading for 7yrs and never heard of it, so they should sack their marketing team & re-launch it with a more modern approach.
I don't say this lightly - I did spent 20+ years in publishing with EMAP & others before moving into the beauty sector

The last time I heard of this magazine was back in 2001 when they sponsored a body painting competition I took part in. I certainly hadn't heard of them since joining Salon Geek - and that was back in February 2008!
