Heated Mittens & Booties

Hi all

I am looking for some advise on how to use heated mittens & Booties as I would like to incorporate them into my manicure and pedicure’s?

I currently don’t have any training in using paraffin wax so wondered how I could use them in with just creams etc when doing a mani/pedi?

Would I just soak, exfoliate, masque, massage with cream/oil then place hands/feet in mitts/booties to soften the skin prior to polishing?

I would suggest using them before massage then massage with the cream that remains on the hand/foot.

If you get them (and they are quite pricey)remember to turn them on to heat up in plenty of time. Don't put one on top of the other as it can cause them to over heat. For hygiene purposes you will need to wrap the hands/feet in cling film or a disposable plastic bag then put them inside the liner before going inside the mitts/booties.

There are some 'wheaties' available (but not sure where!) that work very well and are far less expensive. They do need a handy microwave though!

How long would you recommend to leave each hand and foot in the heatted mitten/booties for? would 5 mins be sufficient enought?

Hi at college we were taught to leave them in for 10-15 mins depending on the condition of the clients skin ie the dryer the longer hth

I use the mitts and exfoliate during a luxuary manicure. I use the mittens and booties depending on the condition of the clients cuticles, if they are bad I apply cuticle cream and hand cream, then apply plastic bags and put the heated mitts on for around 15 minutes, then I do the cuticle work as the cuticles are much softer and can be removed much easier but if there cuticles are already in ok condition I use them after doing the cuticle work before the massage then massage with the left over cream.

I use my mitts/booties during my deluxe manicure/pedicures. I exfoliate, masque, oil & hand cream/ foot cream then wrap up & leave them on for 10-15mins. I then massage in the cream residue.

I know you say you're not trained in paraffin wax but just in case you ever start using it, we were taught at college that it's either paraffin wax OR heated mitts/booties, never together as it can get too warm for the client.

Hi,
I was taught to use heated mitts with either an oil ie cocunut or parraffin wax, wrap in cling film and put hands or feet into heated mitts or boots. After 10 mins then go onto the massage.

Can you all so use the mitts on nail enhancements? would this cause lifting at all?

I love the heated mitts and boots when the masque is on! The heat allows the masque to penetrate further

You can use heated mitts with enhancements, if they are properly sealed lifting is not a concern!
