I am wondering if anyone can help me. I have a client who had both of her big toe nails removed about 5 years ago (due to being badly ingrown) She still has a cuticle and the shape but it is hard skin and not nail. She has aked me if there is anything I can do to build a toenail for her. She has tried stick on nails in the past, but they fall off after a couple of hours. My problem is that I know by putting product onto soft tissue will make it lift and fall off quickly.

I do have some clear false toe nails, but when I just laid them on her toes, the C Curve of the nails sat very proud of the shape she has, so I would be worried about putting them on just in case water etc, seeped inbetween and caused a "greenie"

I have racked my brains as to what to do. I am sure I am missing something, but can't think what.

Any advise would be reallt appreaciated as this lady desperatly wants to wear sandals this summer, but at the moment won't as she is so embarassed about her toes.

Many thanks

Sally X

What would you advise.

You certainly can do it. There should be a post on here from many many moons ago.
If i remember correctly you apply oil to the nail bed so that what you apply can easily be removed. Then apply acrylic to create a toe nail. Once dry pop it off . Do a few so that you have spares. Then when the client needs her feet to look the biz apply cutom toe nails with gel bond.
Now i am trying to remember from memory here so it may be best if you do a search just incase i have got anything wrong!!
I seem to remember it was Geeg who gave the instructions....i think....apologies if not! x

Thank you diesel1978 for your advise. I am going to give it a try at the weekend. The client is actually a neighbour and a friend of mine, so I'm sure she won't mind me trying this out on her while she relaxes with a glass of wine, especially if she end up with nice toenails.:lol:

Thank you again
Sally

I'm sure I read a thread on here somewhere about a product called LCN Pedique, which is very good for this sort of thing, sorry I have never used it so don't know anything about the product, but hopefully a more experienced geek can give you more information on it.

I keep loosing both my big toenails due to running. I make my own toenails all the time. I did read a post a while ago (post from gigi) you could do a search in the archives, sorry I can't remember what the heading was?

What she recommended was to add solar oil to the nail bed first, then paint the acrylic on. Then the nail will just fall off. Then you add gel bond adhesive to the artificial nail and I've found this lasts me weeks, even with the running.
