I started doing gels yesterday using the acrygel system from Star Nail, but when they were done, there was no shine, but cloudy.

I did all the steps, cured them for the right amount of time, and I put on the UV Seal. Then like in instructed, I used the Finishing Wipe solution to remove the tackiness and then buffed them, but there was no shine. In the end I had to put a top coat on to make them shine.

When creating the gels on the nail, I did use a fair amount of strengthening powder, but then I was told that wouldn't affect the shine, so I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

I'm such a perfectionist, and I'm really hard on myself, so I really need to find out what I'm doing wrong, so if any of you have had to deal with this or know what I'm doing wrong PLEASE let me know.

Hi,

Did you put the UV Sealer on last? Because your thread reads, that you put it on, then buffed them etc, or did I read it wrong?

Yeah, you were right but the buffing didn't affect it. It was the finishing wipe. It took off the shine with the tack. I buffed it so it wouldn't look half as cloudy. I had tried to buff it before the sealer was put on and cured, but I still had to take the tack off so it still didn't work.

There is no mix ratio in Acrygel ur encouraged to over dip, so that wouldn't be ur problem . But when I learned to do acrygel u didn't buff after the uv seal. Did it look cloudy before u buffed?

As soon as i took the tacky layer off the uv seal, it turned cloudy. buffing had nothing to do with it really.
