Hi all looking for some advise please, I qualified in my lvl2 svq at an old age of 39, I love it problem is I can't get anyone to take me on so old, (i dont look that old either lol) they want under 24yr old as they are apparently funded, I do voluntary work couple of days in salon but I'm only allowed the odd blowdry, where should I go from here? I don't want to give up

You could try mobile? Really get stuck into that and make a name for your self, then go and apply for a job. Tell them that you started your own mobile hairdressing business, show them profit and loss sheets, show them the treatments you offer etc. basically sell your self to them. Also try become a specialist, like Afro relaxing or Brazilian blow dries. Show them that you will be a great assets to the salon . Also try working in different salons Voluntary as you can gain more experience and references :)
This is what I did :)

Thanks for your reply, I agree looks like its mobile, just a confidence thing too having no one to ask and all being new, thanks again think I'll do voluntary other salon too, thx again for your advice x

No worries :) your more than welcome to post on here anytime you need help or advice :) x

Also go on as many good quality courses as you can afford :) maybe some free ones !
It will really boost your confidence. Good luck :)))
