:rolleyes:Hi can anyone hlep me?

I'm a qualified nail technician but am having trouble with my natural gel overlays? I use ibd system and on the extensions it seems fine but seems to lift within a day on the natural nail plate. Can anyone give me adivice on what i'm doing wrong?

Where is the lifting happening? Is it lifting at the free edge or the cuticle?

Can you talk us through your prep and application please?

When you do tip and overlay the gel is applied in the same places as a NNO except the free edge....so if you have no problems with tip and overlay...only NNO then the problem lies with the application at the free edge.

I would say its thickness and capping that you need to look into to.

but IBD have had a lot of problems with their gels lately... could also come from that.

if that was the case she would be having problems with tip and overlay too.:)

I didn't think the post was really clear lol... could be language issue ;)

from what i can gather....doing nail extensions are fine...but doing NNO (natural nail overlays) are lifting.

ok, my bad...

then yeah, capping, or maybe filling after curing the French?

Could someone explain to me what problems IBD have been having as we are International Educators for IBD and haven't heard any at all, strange ........
Sounds like a capping problem to me but untill i know every step that is being prefomed a wouldn't realy like to say...... Sound like something small!!!

To ensure the free edge is capped properly the best thing to do is to apply a form and bring the gel over the natural free edge by 1-2mm, just make sure you don't file it off when you're shaping/finishing :wink2:
