Help!! Gelish polish fade?

CAN ANYONE HELP ME FIND A VIDEO ON HOW TO FADE 2 COLORS OF GELISH POLISH OR SOME TYPE OF STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS?

I had a play the other day ,

I did base , cured
Blotted
Applied the full colour
Cured
Applied 2nd layer of colour but a lot less than normal so it's got good coverage at the matrix end of the nail. And less and less towered the free edge,
Cured
Applied the other color from free edge down so more at the free edge and less towered the matrix area,
Cured
Again if needed
Cured
Top coat,

I don't know if this Is the "right" way I don't even know if there is a right way lol I was just seeing what would happen if...

I just lay down my base color, cure, then apply the "fade" color to just the tip and use a fan brush to sweep it up the nail and cure.
