Hi all, I had a major waxing accident yesterday. Knocked over a pot of hot soft wax on the garage floor. Now I have a very sticky yellow puddle. Iv'e managed to clean up the equipment but haven't got a clue where to start with the floor. Any ideas? Angie x:sad:

Hi.

Is it a hard floor? I usually get a iron and put it on the lowest setting, lots of newspaper/kitchen roll.

Put the kitchen roll/paper over the wax and iron until the wax has melted into the paper, if it's a carpet i try to hover with the iron just for enough heat to soften. It can take a while but fingers crossed :D

This happened to me just the other day, unfortunately in by bedroom. I had thrown an almost empty cartridge into the bin and had been away for a few days. When I came home someone had obviously been in my room as the bin was on its side and there was the cartridge with a heap of wax coming out of it into the carpet. A book that I had been reading was also stuck to the floor by a big lump of wax. I was mortified. I ended up pouring loads of equipment cleaner onto the wax and letting it soak in, then scrubbed away. I repeated it over and over until eventually to my surpise all the wax was gone. I also used the cleaner on my book and that worked too, and there wasnt even any staining left on it.

I did think of trying to use an iron somehow but couldn't decide whether it would work or make it worse lol. Wish I had just tried it, it would have been a hell of a lot quicker.

Hi
This happened to me, I teach in a college and one of my students knocked a whole new pot of wax onto the floor. I poured equipment cleaner over it and left it for 10 minutes then used spatulas to get it up. It took ages but I did get rid of it all. You can also use surgical spirit if you have any, if not you can buy it from the chemist. good luck! at least it's not on the carpet!:D

I would scrape as much as possible up with a spatula or 2 or 3,then use paper wax strips and surgical spirit.Had major spillage in salon after the saturday girl filled up some wax cartridges and then the carton fell over in the cupboard, only for me to find the tues after when it had gone solid.:(

ps surgical spirit is dirt cheap from your local chemist and works just as effectively as wax cleaner which can be extortionate.

ohh ive done that before (in the middle of waxing some ones legs too Eekk!) i had to soak Surgical Spirit on the floor and just use spatulas to try scrape it up , after bout 2hours of cleaning it was ***** and span lol X

use a hairdryer to warm it up its a lot quicker that way scrape the worst of it up and get some sticky stuff remover, it gets it up quicker than surgical spirit or wax equipment cleaner!
