I've had acrylic nails put on today because I did a nail extension course.
How do you take your acrylic nails off when you've got sore and cut cuticles?

If you desperately need to remove them then I would recommend thinning the product with a 180 abrasive, putting some vaseline around your eponychiums (as a barrier), then use the cotton wool and remover/acetone method, wrapping in aluminium foil and leaving for half an hour (or maybe more, depending on how thick the product has been applied)... after you've removed all of the product I would then rehydrate with Solar Oil and keep on using it until the soreness has gone (then use it daily to maintain the condition of your nails and skin :green:)

Thanks. I'll try that

maybe you could thin and shorten them to almost natural nail until they grow a bit while using solar oil, then when they're a bit better remove.

I agree with this advice .. unless you are absolutely desperate for some reason I would never put sore fingers with open wounds into Acetone.

Actually it could be a good opportunity for you to file down and reshape these nails until they are to your liking. Often a nice nail can emerge from a heap of crappola if you file it into the right shape and thickness. AND if the smiles aren't nice you can just pint hem with a pretty colour when you are done. Why put your your nails or skin under any more stress than you need to?
