First of all, I hold my hands up, I'm a picker....I can't help it........it's a horrible habit....I no longer pick or bite my nails, but if I have a spot, a scab or anything that can be popped or picked then I have to have a go!! YUK!!

Every month around the time of my period I come up with lots of spots, some small others really big (well they feel it!) across my shoulders and the back of my neck, and I now have some around the front and the top of my arms......my skin on my face is ok, the odd blemish but nothing too bad. I have a reasonable skincare routine for my face, but it's rather difficult to give the same care and attention to my shoulders/back.

The thing is because I can't leave them alone I am now scabby and scarred, it looks and feels awful. The likelyhood is that I have many more than I would have had if I hadn't been messing with them and probably spreading bacteria all over my skin! Is there anything you skincare experts would recommend I put on them to keep the area clean and dry them up..........spring is around the corner and at this rate I'll be having to wear polo necks all year round!!

Please help!!!

Look for products that contain Benzoyl peroxide. Its very effective at drying out the spot and killing the bacteria. Pure tea tree oil is also very good too but just a par below the benzoyl peroxide.
Dermalogica do a products called 'Special Clearing Booster' which is fantastic forclearing spots. Get a sample and see if it works for you!

You might not need 'drying up'. It's so hard to give this sort of advice without being able to see what you have. For what could be "spots" to you might be, for example, keratosis pilaris to me.

My recommendation in this instance would be to go and see a beauty therapist, get them to have a look at your skin and determine what it actually is before you start messing with chemicals and irritants.

Maybe have a quick trip to your doc. I had a similar thing and turns out it was hormonal. He sorted me out with some tablets and my skin is lovely now (even though I say so myself :wink2:)!
