Hi fellow geeks!
I want to start up my own mobile spray tan business part time.
At the moment, i'm trawling the internet looking for equipment but its things like insurance (where to go, what cover needed? etc), what name to advertise under (my own or can i make up a name?), do i have to register my business anywhere and how much roughly i should be charging for a full body spray tan?
Any help would be appreciated. I'm a qualified St Tropez tanner and have level 2 in nail services which i may incorporate into the business at some point.
Any ideas peeps?? x x x

Many of the spray tan companies on here will offer a complete package - including training, equipment, products and insurance - a good place to start would be to search for some existing spray tan threads on here (of which there are many) - and put a list together of the various companies you might want to contact regarding training, etc.

Also - make sure you find a product that works for you. Some people find they get great results from a particular brand of spray tan solution - others prefer other brands. And be aware that the training and aftercare advice will differ between brands too - so if you train with one brand but then try a sample of another brand but don't get as good results, then it may well be because the required technique is different between brands...

Your insurance would be called public liability insurance and most companies cover you for 2 million pounds,
the guild of beauty therapists
babtac
salon gold
are just a few names of insurance for you to google.

You can make up your own business name and use what ever you like as long as the name is not registered to another business,
you can check this at customs house online.

You need to look at what everyone else in your area is charging and try to be competitive without under cutting them too much as you will just start a price war,
an example been, i charge £25 the salon 2 doors away from me charges £12 but i have not lost one customer to them,
the odd customer have tried it but they soon came back,
a lot of clients will pay the extra for good products and good skills, hth

Aye, the website for companies house is Companies House - and I think that you only need to register a unique name if you are trading as a limited company - hope that helps.
