Hi everyone,
I am a new member as of today and also new to the nail industry, only completing my training a few weeks ago. So am very much a beginner!
My friend has silk nail extensions but with the white tips under a layer of silk and resin, I was interested in how this was achieved but wasn't trained in this way of application (applying the french polish at the end).
I have tried practicing on myself but find that the white tip is not protected enough and gets damaged when buffing.
Can anyone help with a set of procedures and also with some hints and tips.

Thanks x

HI, if I remember correctly

resin, strip, resin, activator, resin, strip, resin, activator.

You can apply an extra strip to the stress line for extra strength.

I think that is the right order, but may very with different kits.

good luck with your new venture

Hi Hun

It really depends on which system you are using and you have to make sure that you build you layers.

When finishing only use a light buffer such as a sand turtel or such like.

The kit I use in the college to teach level 2 SVQ is and NSI kit it has a very good set of instructions and dose the job well.

Hope this helps:hug:

I was taught the same way except on my last coat of resin (glue) I put two layers on for added strength and added protection when filing and buffing.

Also when adding the extra strip for the stress line, experiment with applying the strip first then overlay with silk or apply full strip of silk then a stress strip on top. I myself put the stress strip down first.

Hi all,
Thanks for the advice. I'lle keep up with the practice!
