Hi, I've been mobile spray tanning for a few months and the last couple of times the client has ended with a darker 'v' patch under their chin! I have had to dab it very gently and they have been happy with the outcome the next day but I'm not happy with it! I use Sienna x products and spray tanning machine. It hasn't happened previously and I just wondered if it could be because I'm too close? I do ask the clients to slightly raise their chin to make sure it isn't missed! Thanks for your help:cry:

If it hasn't happened before, I would suggest that maybe that time you maybe sprayed two lines of spray quite close to each other and thus creating the darker 'v' area you describe.

Hi sounds like you may have to turn your spray down a bit. After you have been tanning a while it's god to turn down every so often as you know where your going you don't need to see so
much guid colour. Give it a try and just lightly mist up and down. X x

this darker patch, it isnt them looking down and their chin creating a smudge is it? It sounds as if it may be.

ask the client to keep looking straight ahead and not to look down.

Thank u sooo much everyone for your help! Its the first time I've used this forum and wasn't expecting any answers so quick!! Thanks again

Sorry to be rude but you havent given her the answer.

You need to spray up and down the clients face Starting at one ear to the other using 4-5 five swipes. To not get the builded up when you reach the lip area of the swipe pull you gun to the side gently (thank you ms jen smith)

There may be a problem with your application in the breast area please contant your nearest tantrick rep for training I did and boy was I taught to tan!!

Just an after thought to my orginal training with sienna x it more than likely the breast area where your creating the build up and the face application is the over kill...

I think glam tan was asking what she may have done wrong and people have given their opinions on what they think so yes the question has been answered.
Everyone sprays different and how they feel comfortable.
I personally do the face horizontally and i do the torso horizontally too and i find that the neck area gets covered well using this technique as you are following the contours of the neck.

I seriously wouldn't get down on this issue...its only been a couple of months since you've been out there spray tanning and rest assured with a bit more usage and experimentation things will become second nature to you.
Its through having these problems and having to deal with them that gives you the necessary experience.

If the rest of the body is fine then it would follow that your gun setting is ok and that generally speaking your routine and speed of movement is fine

If you are only having this darker problem under the chin and that your having to dab this area then it follows you are applying to much solution to this area....simply draw the gun further back from the surface or speed up the movement rather than going adjusting the output volume only for this area as you will have to reset it when you do the remainder of the application.

HTH and good luck...there is plenty of time yet so don't get down

Glam Tan... how big is the v shape?

with regards to the v shape it is quite big so I may have oversprayed like stated (just concerned as it hadn't been happening before!)...I'll just have to be xtra careful tomorow !!! I was taught by St Tropez to spray the face and torso horizontally but with this machine Sienna X told me that the machine I am now using is designed for a more closer contact! I guess practise makes perfect.. I'll update with the results! Thanks again

If its an HVLP machine you have there you should be +- 6 to 8 inches away from the skin surface
