Hi everyone i know this is probably te silliest thread but i dont know what to do! :o

Last night i went for a gorgeous meal, but on my may to the toilet trapped my finger in the door, i'd had a little to drink so i wasnt too concerned about the pain just the fact i'd chipped my tip! :irked:

Anyhoo...

I got back to my seat and my partner saw blood (so now it begins to hurt!) and i realised i had a crack straight across my nail just below the free edge and the tip and it bleeding but the tip is still attaced, ouch!!

So this morning i am sat with plaster wrapped around my finger so not to catch the tip and i'm so unsure what to do? do i soak off the product? or fty and fix it, i'm due to go out tonight and i dont want a plaster on it unless i have to be i dont know what to do?!

Lots of love, confunsed and hungover! x:Love:

Ok, it's hard to suggest what to do without having a look.

IMO if there is an open wound,, do not soak off as the acetone/remover will sting like hell and also, it an entry point into the blood stream and you don't need any over exposure too.

If the nail has dried up, I would wipe it over with scrubfresh, well, to make sure it was clean & be sure it's dry too, don't of had your hand in water and then do this. It needs to be totally dry.
I would bend the tip/nail to open the crack/break (I'm assuming that this is a break across the nail plate that's caused the bleeding), clean with the scrubfresh, allow to evaporate & then I would drop gelbond along the crack and push it back to seal the injury. Don't leave any air pockets, use enough gelbond. You can buff any excess from the surface of the enhancement later.
I have done this on a few clients with no problems.

If I'm not mistaken, I'm sure ethyl cyanacrolate was invented during the Vietnam war to stick wounds together out in the field before they could get them back to hospital, also I beleive, they use a similar thing in hospitals today.

Hth's xx

Thank you so much this is what i was thinking, as the thought of soaking it off was too much and would lead to over exp! I'm the going to tak the tip alot shorter so i dont catch it!

thaks again

How to deal with the breakage:

First sanitise hands thoroughly. Then, open the wound slightly and sanitise it. this will sting but only momentarily. Then open the wound slightly again and using a pharmaceutical grade EC resin, apply to the wound and close it up applying gentle pressure until dry. The pain will be relieved immediately.

Then very gently, thin the area over the breakage while supporting the nail all the time, and sanitise and re-apply l/P over the area to reinforce the break.

If you experience any painful throbbing during the next 24 hours, the enhancement will have to be removed BUT ... I have never had this occur with a client whose nail I have mended EVER. By the next rebalance, you can either soak off an reapply or leave it alone to grow out naturally.
