Did my first full set on a human (as opposed to my practice hand!) and apparently they have all come away :-( luckily my friend and not a client.

I have built up a really good business so far and don't want to blow it so cd do with some advice.

After researching I bought nsi secrets soak off hard gel system as I wanted a system I did not have to file off and using pro impressions advanced well less tips as I don't have the patience for filing wells on tips.

My procedure was

Dry prep as normal and cuticle work.

Cleanse

Apply and fit tips with glue on rim of top against natural smile line.

Buff tips and nail to remove shine

Cut tip and file into shape.

Apply dehydrator to nail only

Scrub in bonder gel to nail only then cure

Add thin layer of builder gel and cure

Add another layer putting big bead in centre and walking down nail.

Turn hand over for 5 secs

Cure.

If happy with shape file with 180 grit file to refine shape.

Cleanse.

Client wanted colour so I added x 2 coats of gelish colour and then gelish Tio to finish.

If no colour required I would have applied nsi secrets top coat.

What am I doing wrong. I have a gelish led lamp and the gel is meant to be led curable but wondering if I should try my uv lamp?

Any help would be really appreciated :)

Does your friend normally wear gel or acrylics? Are they used to looking after their nails?

Have you trained with NSI or another system?

Did you cleanse again AFTER buffing off the shine or just dive straight into the dehydrator?

How long did you cure each stage for?

Nsi secrets isn't a hard gel its a soft soak off gel. I can't imagine it is strong enough to use for a longer extension - I use bio sculpture soft soak off gel for overlays or very short extensions only. For gel extensions Id recommend a hard gel - unfortunately they are buff off only but they have the strength and you can add gel polish over if required.
I'd recommend training in the product you are using so you are shown how that particular product is applied and the knowledge behind it as all systems/brands are different [emoji4]

I trained with a local provider. Elite beauty academy in gel extensions. They recommended cuccio but After researching systems I chose nsi secrets removable gel as did not want to buff off. My friend does have bitten nails and normally wears press on nails. I did cleanse after buffing and cured under my led lamp for 1 minute but am wondering I may need to do for longer? ...

Thank you beauty expert. As I understand it this product is suitable for gel extensions but I am going to give Nsi a call. Sadly their venues are miles away from me but will get some advice. [emoji3] x

Yes bio are suitable for extensions if using their sculpting gel which still needs some buffing along with soaking, possibly you may need to build your arch more to give more strength to the stress area? I know what you mean I think my nearest NSI training centre is Manchester which isn't close x
