So i just finished school at color my nails and no offense to ppl who went there or loved it but i really thought it was a closed minded school. they only taught with one product line, ez flow. now being out in the nail world there are so many products and i dont know which one is best. i tend to have clients come back with a lot of lifting. iv tried everything i can including extra time prepping, double shot of primer, pushed back cuticles extremely back, bought numerous brushes, everything. i think it might be the product?? so i want to try a different one to find out if thats the problem. what products do you use that you swear by? and what kind of primer is the best? please if you have any advice help me so i have returning clients!

Hi,

Ez flow is a good brand to use!! Creative is also a good one to try... Maybe you are not sealing the product properly around zone 3 causing your nails to lift?

In fairness to the school ... you can't teach with them all now can you?

There are high end products available to you that do not need primer. I use CND and haven't used primer of any sort for more than 15 years!! Primer is so passé in my book.

Do be aware, that you are new and new ones always blame their product for the problems they have. Many with experience use EZF without
encountering the problems you are having and I think it is down to your inexperience.

For one .... you should never push the eponychium too far back when prepping
... this is a prime cause of permanent matrix damage that results in ridges and sometimes permanent splits in the nail plate.

As for your lifting .. there is more than just prep involved in lifting problems. Check that you never touch the skin surrounding the nail plate with your product ... or work to thickly in those areas; doing so is a prime cause of lifting and something that most newbies do until they really get their application technique down pat.

If any of these things are your problem, than another product won't change it ! However more classes with a company like CND will. :green:
