I have my first tanning party tonight and have 9 people booked in. From previous experience can anyone tell me roughly how long it would take to spray that many taking in to account letting my machine cool down etc...

Thanks

Jackie x

I would allow 15 min each client that includes 5 min cool down in between tans although you shouldn't really need to leave it off specifically to "cool" as when you have finished spraying you will be turning it off to allow your client to get dressed and prep your next one up (barrier etc).

Just make sure you do all your consultations prior to starting. I usually hand out my consultation cards with pens tell them the sooner we get them done the sooner they can be tanned sit down and go through it with all clients attending they write the details in saving me valuable time if anyone has a particular issue or contraindication I go through that with them privately.

Make sure you ask them to remove all make up etc before their turn comes and I take a clear polish and leave this with them and ask those who dont have polish on fingers or toes to apply one coat to prevent staining. I also post out enough pre tan info leaflets and pre tan exfoliator sachet`s to the host to hand out.

All in all I would allow 3 hours maybe another 15 for set up/tidy up.
Hope it goes well. xxxx

All in all it would take me 2 hours this starts from entering the house to leaving the house.

Gawd do you have them on a conveyer belt or standing in a row .

It would prob take me 2 hr to spray alone and another 1 hr for all the other bits working at a relaxed pace.

 That would be easier!! Have actually considered standing them in a row running along all of them and spaying them

Thanks everyone, at least that gives me some indication as to timings. Gawd, if I could do it in two hours that would be great.

About 15 mins each. It would take me about 2 and 1/2 hours.
Best thing to do is get there and give out your record cards for them to fill in. Make sure at this stage nobody has any deodorant or anything on (as there is always someone that doesn't listen) That way they can wash this off and in the mean time you can set up.
Good luck, I hope you enjoy it. Tanning parties are so much fun.

Ps. you may want to have a room for yourself and just one client at a time. I always do this as it's not nice to be getting your bits out infront of your friends lol I also had 3 women trying to tell me how to do my job!! xxx

Thanks Kylieb.

Yes, I will be spraying people in a separate room. I am really looking forward to it and it would be good to get one over and done with so I experience going into the next one etc...

I got some of those buff wipes from WOW as I thought they would be a good thing to have for that very reason. Do you know if they are any good?

I don't know babe, I use sienna so not sure on the wipes. Sienna has a spray. To be honest I have hardly used my bottle. I always get them to shower before hand or wash it off. Never had no problems. I don't use barrier cream either.

Thanks, I am sure I will get to find tonight. No I haven't used barrier cream since I started and had not had any problems with nails staining yet! I use Sienna as well as Tantrick, love them both.

Ok I'm being nosy, and seeing if I've worked this out right for myself:)
No barrier cream, is this because you pull back the gun as you reach the wrists and ankles so are doing hands and feet with over spray only?
Do you use sticky feet? and what about knees and elbows, don't they come out darker if you get a none listening client who hasn't moisturized?
Thanks for reply and sorry for high jacking the thread:eek:

I use a uv protector on the nails. You can buy it from united beauty and it just paints on. The tan does stain toe nails and acrylics, especially if you have ladies every week, so worth investing in a bottle xxx

Yes hun I pull back the gun when doing ankles and wrists. I spray really lightly over the hands and the over spray gets the feet. Some clients need a little spray on their feet I find.
If clients have really bad dry skin then I use barrier cream but have only had to use it once on my friend who has psoriasis.
I did use sticky feet but don't any more. I place a towel down then couch roll on top and feet are always fine. Not meaning to sound penny pushing but all these things that you can do without - save you in the long run.

Right, uv protector on my list, what about the palms of the hands? Collin lent me a nursee machine to play with and on the dvd they said to use barrier cream on the palms of the hands soles of feet and moisturizer on elbows, knees and heels, do you do that?
Yes I am going for training but I'm curious to know how experienced tan geeks go about things:hug:

I haven't had anyone say that their toe nails have stained as yet, as I do usually ask when getting feedback from people. I carry some clear nail polish around with me so perhaps will get them to use that first whilst waiting for their turn.

When you get your clients to stand on a towel with couch roll, do they just shuffle round so that they are not lifting their feet and changing where they are standing on the couch roll (hope you know what I mean). I think sticky feet are so expensive for what they are!

I too use a towel with couch roll for clients to stand on and always use barrier cream on palms, & heels at least. Another tip Tanless tanning & Susie if your not already aware of is as you aproach the knee area get them to briefly bend them slightly so you dont get white lines across them.

I haven't used barrier cream as yet on anyone and have had no problems at all. I do always check whether they have any extreme cases of dryness and would apply barrier cream if this was the case but do not put anything on their hands or anywhere else..

Thanks everyone especially timeless:hug: its your thread:) I've only sprayed a couple of times on my daughter and her tan was fine. What she did on me though was a different story:green:
So glad to hear about the towel and couch roll, this seems quicker to me as well, less faffing about.
Bend knees, add that to list as well !

Now that one I have sorted, there is a tanning geek just down the road from me who will NEVER let her mum tan her again:green: So as soon as I've done my training we are going to get together and do each other, good excuse for a regular natter too:lol:
