Hi,

I have used biosculpture for 5 yrs. and i do probably even amount of colour and french nno.

For the last few weeks it seems all my clients with french nno overlays are having problems! on all of them the white is lifting away from the tip, thus making the rest of the gel lift.

I dont know why this is suddenly happening as i havent had this before! i havent changed anything i am doing so im a bit confused!

For a new set, i prep the nail, apply 2 thin coats of white for the smile line then apply 2 coats of clear gel, then top coat.

Any ideas anyone?

Hi I have been taught (recently) a different way to you - after prep, one clear gel then 2 white thin smile lines and then S-gel, then top coat. I was taught that clear is used as a base only. It does seem to depend on when you were taught as they seem to change their methods.

it could simply be the bulbs in your lamp need changing. HTH's

I agree with Debbie. Change the bulbs in your lamp and see how you get on after that.

i have just got a new lamp so i dont think its that!

how does everyone else apply there french?

Like Essentia, following prep I apply one layer clear, two thin layers of white for the smiles, then one layer clear or your chosen pink, then one layer sealer or s-gel.

In fact, I apply one layer of clear to start off with as the base, regardless of french or colour.

Try this method and let us know how it goes.

This is the what i was taught too. :)

thanks for your help i will try this.

so what do people use over the white? s gel or sealer gel?

whats the difference and why do u use it?

Sealer or clear gel is more likely to yellow over the white. Also S-gel will hide the step caused by 2 coats of white which sealer cannot do.

I only apply sealer gel over french and it is more than sufficient to cover the step in the white.

so if you are doing an infill do you do white then one coat of sealer gel?

and for a new overlay 2 layers of sealer?

how long does the sealer take to cure?

Hi Technicians have different ways of working but in the exam paper it was stated that s-gel must be used over a french. (However in my manual it says that you can use either sealer or s-gel depending on the finish :) I think this has been revised to prevent some problems occuring. If a certain way works for you all well and good.

As a top coat the sealer gel only takes one minute to clear and with any last later of gel you only need one coat.

The reason why they may have changed to only recommending the s gel is that I believe that Bio Sculpture may be discontinuing the sealer gel. I for one will not be happy with this as I personally dont prefer the s-gel as the top coat, but that is my personal preference.

I've always one, one layer clear gel, one thicker layer white for tip then one layer clear gel then top gloss. don't have any problems with lifting or discolouration!

I was trained 4 months ago and was told.......1 layer of clear gel, 1 layer of 87 (very pale pink) 2 thin layers of fm and then either Sealer or S Gel then top coat
