Help With Case Study

Hi, i wonder if anyone can help me.
I am doing a case study on a hot oil manicure. My tutor has given me it back because i havent put down how i heated up the oil.
How do you do this when you are carrying out a hot oil treatment?

The only time I seen it done in college it was heated with an infra red lamp.

Oil in a bowl and lamp placed above it to heat

Could you put the oil in a tub and then the tub in a bigger tub with hot water in - like you do a hot oil treatment for your hair - if you know what i mean?

p.s i hate case studies.

When we did hot oil manicures the oil was heated up by placing it in a bowl above another bowl of hot water.
It was a bit like when you heat chocolate.

Well we finished manicures at college in December and the bain marie was the way we were taught to do it.
