Well i've rang the princes trust she's took my details and said someone is going to ring me about a development award grant. Checked on the website and I seem eligible but it says you can only get up to £500 and if the course is considerably more they won't give you it. The course is £2,400! So does this mean they will only give me £500 or nothing at all does anyone know?? xx

If the grant is only up to £500 than yes you would need to put the rest yourself.
EDIT: Re-reading that - sorry - best to ask them. You would need to show them you have the extra to put yourself or by sounds of it they won't give it.

Hi are you on working tax credits aswell as your partner works?

No we're not entitled to it as he earns too much and we're not entitled to housing benefit either x

Improve your confidence, if you have little, fake it til you make it! And only your passion for nails will make you any money, with or without a CND course.

All you need is public liability insurance and then try the following for 4 weeks...

- put on a big smile and go into a local independent coffee shop. Explain to the manager you are a nail specialist in training to become a nail technician and ask for a spare table for a few hours a week, for the next 4 weeks to try setting up a 'pop up nail bar' Ask if they will give you a table for free to offer free hand massages and file and polishes to their coffee shop customers. All you need is a small space ( maybe near the door- so people notice you and the smell of polish isn't over whelming, but you don't need to offer acrylics)

- explain everything you have explained to us. You are a single mum and you are trying to get money together for a nail course and to work from home and the best courses are quite pricey. Get a photo frame and type or write up 'free nails' and in small at the bottom (tips welcome!) and a jar in front. Then chat to people about what you do.

- keep smiling and you will gain confidence. And money for your course...and customers...and publicity.... And good networking skills with the coffee shop people

Xxxx

Ps. For 4 weeks you just need a friend or family member to look after your lo. Just for a few hours... Maybe in exchange for a reduced price set of nails
