Take my advise and learn L&P first . after that gels are easy peasy!! lol

You can't give a main reason why they are different as for a start there are a myriad types of gels. soak off and buff off and flexible and rigid and thin coloured gels etc. all do different things.

More people request L&P than gels for a few reasons ... one they are quicker to do ... two they are well known ... but really it is hard to generalize with these things. L&P still rules the market but you need to consider which is most popular in YOUR area and do that.

There are also articles on here about the differences between gels and L&P. Have you had a look in the articles section??

I found this under general articles. http://www.salongeek.com/general-articles/35483-choosing-correct-gel.html

Go to forums .. then scroll down until you see articles and tutorials click on articles and then there are different categories ... there is mucho to learn there.
