I'm halfway through my waxing course and would like some info if I may.
I live in New York, and I noticed a lot of the posters here are from the UK I'm sure a lot of the techniques and contra-indications and experiences are the same.

I plan to go mobile but also booth rent for those clients that are uncomfortable with the idea of me going to their location.

Where can I get waxing supplies at a decent price or at least good quality items worth paying for.

And what is it like doing your very first client?

Thanks for your imput. Of course I'll have more questions as time goes on.

Welcome to the site.I'm not sure where in your location you would buy your wax supplies, maybe do a search on the net and somewhere will come up,close to you.Or you could ask whoever you are training with where is the best place to get supplies.

As for contra-indications and techniques, waxing is waxing no matter where your from:green:its all the same.

It can be nerve racking doing your first wax client,be it salon or mobile. It takes a long time to become profficient in all the different areas and dealing with different hairgrowths etc.I would probably say it's better to start in a salon if at all possible so you have other therapists for backup if things should get a bit sticky, pardon the pun.lol and also to gain as much experience as possible.

Its difficult building up a good clientelle from scratch but in a salon you will have lots of clients and gain experience for quicker than starting out on your own.

Anyway,good luck:hug:

Thats good advice thanks.
Yeah, I guess I have all the newbie enthusiasm and fantasies of success. But fantasies don't brace you for harsh reality.
Thanks again.

Cant add to what has already been said but I do remember my first bikini wax, it was on my tutor. Talk about throwing me in at the deep end!

Goodluck with your course and with what you choose to do. x
