Hi

I'm very new here and very new to the whole beauty thing! I hear everyone talking about systems and which one they use and being trained by this company and that company but I really don't know what everyone is talking about! I know this is fantastically boring for everyone who knows what they are doing (I know it drives me up the wall when ppl ask me what are quite obviously stupid questions in my day job!) but I'm really sorry! I need help! Does that make sense? Which systems are good? Which are bad? Which do most ppl use? Which should I use? :confused:Lx

Welcome... Welcome... Welcome...

I'll warn you now this geeking lark is addictive!!!!

What areas of beauty are you interested in, Nail, Skin, Tanning?

With regards to different systems, its not really a case of whats good and whats not, its more the preference of the user. Obviously some companies offer more superior products than others, but it all depends on what you're looking for and how much you can afford...

Give me an idea of what it is you are wanting to focus on and I'll try to help...:) xxx

Thanks guys!

I'm already highly addicted and I only found the site 3 days ago! I have been really pretty unproductive at work cos I am too busy reading this! Thankfully I have hyper sensitive hearing so ppl can't sneak up on me! (or I have selective hyper sensitive hearing Lol!)I was singing everyone's praises to a friend of mine who is in a similar situation to me (done course, practicing, now thinking really ought to start thinking about doing it for real!) Thanks for the advice - I was going to use Molton Brown and Crabtree and Evelyn moisturisers cos I love the smells and they are really nice products (I used to work for Crabtree) and cos clients could buy them themselves but do you think I ought to use maybe something else? OPI or something? Also what other places are there to buy products from? I know of Beauty Express and Sally's but thats it really! All help greatly appreciated! Lx

Hi again!

I have trained in waxing and mani/pedi so far - waxing is far and away my fave! I am going to a massage course next week! I currently use Crabtree and Evelyn and Molton Brown moisturisers, which I know are both High Street Brands but they smell yummy and I have to be very close to them! lol! but I'm not sure if they are really good enough to do a top class mani/pedi and I do want everything I do to be top notch - else whats the point? Should I aim for a salon brand do you think? How do I know what they smell like etc... cos I have a very sensitive little nose and it doesn't like smells it doesn't like! lol! Lx

Hi ya,

I think everyone can tell you what the best product is to use , the only trouble with that is everyone has their own preference . Once you familiarize yourself with different products out there then you'll know what works best for you and your clients.

Oh yeah , WELC:DME

I would suggest going for Gels rather than liquid and powder if you were looking to do extensions if your nose is sensitive to smell.
I would aim for salon brand, the clients will be willing to pay for a salon service with salon products - you don't want people thinking "I've got that at home - I could have done it myself"
