I realise that anything the high street has to offer in the way of nail wraps will be very poor quality compared to Minx and could actually benifit us. The public will probably buy them and make a total mess of the application then hopefully come to us. Has anyone seen any nail wraps in the retail shops x:D

i have seen Minx on ebay.... lol  as if people will be able to apply and make stick . they are £12 ish..... my concern is. they will think thats what will happen if applied in salon or mobile:?:

minx are teaming up with opi to produce a range of designs for retail on the high st.

I saw that Susan I wonder if it will be sold as Minx. If the public buy it i wonder how successful it will be. As for the Minx on ebay will they think it's worth £12 for the amount of people who buy it there wont be enough to bother us x

Apparently it wont have the minx name on it which is good.

i am a little concerned that people will try the product and then think that because its not very good that all similar things are the same and wont make the distinction between whats available to the public and professional only products.

with any luck it just wont appeal to those who prefer someone else to do the job for them though regardles of the availability to the public. theres not much joy in doing your own foot treatments whatever the product, blinking uncomfortable for most of us.

Yes awfull and as I get older my feet seem to get further away lol.I think one of the pleasures of having your toes done is "the me time" so hopefully twisting themselves in two and getting a poor result will send them our way all the more x

See this is what gets my goat. If we are to support our distributors why aren't they supporting us in making it an exclusive professional service!

i don't use O.P.I but i do use MINX.

Is this just me!!! :twisted::twisted:

It has been a bad day today.....

Nail polishes have been available to the public for years and years and years and this has not had a bad effect on our business. When someone has a proper manicure they see the difference immediately. How many general members of the public are going to clean the nail plate properly? They will look as if they have stuck on sticky backed plastic! There will be lumps and bumps everywhere and they will fall off! Don't worry, give it another few years we will be encouraged to retail them as well! :D

I think this was discussed recently and the range of designs and quality of home use designs would be different.

ETA: here is the other thread http://www.salongeek.com/nail-geek/113575-minx-teaming-up-opi.html

You have the wrong end of the stick hun.

Minx is an exclusive professional service and the new (only 8 designs) of the OPI Chic prints are a consumer short term alternative.

The OPI Chic Prints will be marketed as nail fashion that lasts one to two days, and they are applied using only hand-generated friction. Initially, eight designs will be introduced, with additional designs for holidays. None of the designs will be the same as the professional designs offered Through the Minx distribution network of distributors..

Minx want to ensure that you are aware of this product in case your customers mention it to you. The OPI Chic Prints are not in any way an alternative to the original Minx nails, which must be applied by a nail professional, and which last 4 to 8 days on the fingers, and up to 4 weeks on the toes.

I hope this clarifies for you.

Yeas it does. As usual like a bull in a china shop rings true...:lick:

I just came across these articles whilst surfing and thought they may be of interest especially the article from Minx themselves The Nail Allstar Team line up:Sephora, OPI, & MINX! New Product with D.I.Y. Manicurist in Mind!,
Sephora by OPI Chic Prints ~ The Nailphile.
I had seen things like these in Sephora for about 3 years now, and tbh I never gave them more than a glancing look, (I was not even an aspiring nail technician) and my general thoughts were, they wont fit my nails exactly, so why bother? I have also tried Minx wannabes and you can see the difference. I honestly don't think this will impact on our business, except maybe to bring more people to us, who want the 'real deal' and are prepared to pay for it. Surely that is what we are all after ultimately, 'The higher end clientele' who are prepared to pay for a high end service?:D
