Hi All

Ive nearly finished my waxing course & have been using the Hive wax system. Honey warm & Brazilian Hot

How many of you use Hive & how does it rate?

I would like to try different waxes to compare but dont want to end up buying lots of ranges.

Any recommendations would b great but would also like your opinions on Hive.

I love Hives warm waxes. I use the honey wax just the plain bog standard one and it serves me well!

Do you use any of the sensitive creme waxes ....

I am thinking of going with the honey warm & brazilian hot.....

Do you use the pre B 4 wax oil or just the pre wax lotion?

I use the pre wax spray, then use the azulene oil for after brazilians as it dissolves the wax and stops the client getting stuck in her knickers!

Never used anything else other than the honey wax which I use also for brazilians so can't comment. However when I have taught brazilian waxing and used the salons own wax I have never got on with it as well.

I have used oritrees cream wax which is fab and really gentle on the skin too, but its not as cheap as Hive and that cost has to be passed on to the client.

I use Hive honey warm wax, just the plain and simple one and find that it cant be beaten. I used the chocolate cream one for a while, but clients didnt notice any difference so I changed back - honey is cheaper. I love it and get really great results.

I use the Hive range for everything, pre wax spary, post wax lotion, cotten buds, fabric strips, ELT etc etc. Its a great range and fab value for money.

Once the lotion has dried after applying I then put a sprinkle of talc on clients so they dont stick to their clothes. Also if a clients hair is a bit short I use the hot wax technique of going backwards and forwards with the wax before removal, this really helps with the tricky little devils!!

I use hive tea tree creme wax, I find this is really great for the clients with sensative skin.

What is the after wax oil you use to dissolve any wax residue that has been left on the client?

I use the Hive range (heaters, warm honey wax, pre wax spray, after wax oil and after wax lotion and also stock Hive retail products 'Time Out' and 'Smooth it'

I think it's a great range and am more that happy with it. The only thing I use differently is the hot wax, I find that there are better products to be used when it comes to hot wax, so I use Perron Rigot instead!

Thanks all.....Its a great help when peeps give their opinions on products x

Hi hunny

I use Hive at the moment too. I got 3 for 2 so thought I'd try 3 different ones :) I bought the tea tree, lemon zest and ordinary creme wax (they're all creme). I loved the tea tree which I used first and my clients who had facial waxing with it, not one had a redness that lasted beyond them leaving my room. I absolutely hate the lemon zest, it won't go on properly, smells 'plasticky' and once I actually manage to get it on, it won't come off properly (probably because I couldn't apply it properly :irked:). I still have 1/3rd of a pot left because I couldn't bring myself to keep using it. The ordinary creme wax I've just started and so far I can't fault it. It goes on like a dream, lovely and thin, waxes off easily and no scent.

As for hot wax, I'm going to order some Berins this week :green:

I use Salon Systems pre and after wax at the moment because I still have it from my course I took, but it works fine. I also on my course used the Salon Systems gel wax (it's pinky in colour, can't remember the name, and actually it was really nice to work with :)) I only went with Hive because it's not what I would consider a wholesale wax, but after consideration, the customer doesn't see the pot anyways, cos it's in the heater.

Hope this helps hun. xx

Hope you don't mind me butting in here Champers, but it is about Hive and waxing. Just tell me to get lost if you want!

Can anyone tell me/confirm for me the following:-

1. The Hive wax pots fit in the 1000cc heater. Does the space underneath the pot cause any problems? Does it take longer to heat up?

2. Do Perron Rigot pots fit in the 1000cc wax heater?

3. What is the benefit (if any) of using a 1000cc heater over a 500cc heater if you are just planning to use the wax in pots anyway?

4. I'm planning on waxing mobile, would the 500cc and/or the 1000cc be suitable?

5. Do the replacement 500cc pans fit in the 1000cc heater if I just wanted a little wax in a pot?

6 How deep are the 500cc pots and the 1000cc pots? ie are my hands going to get sticky if I do put some loose wax in a pot and there isn't too much left?

7. What Perron Rigot hot wax would you recommend for Brazillians?

Sorry for all the questions, but I'm curious to find out the answers before I make my decisions.
Thanks!

1000 heater uses the metal buckets, you can use any wax in them...If I have got this correct the 1000 heaters are too hot for the pots to be inserted on their own...

500 heater takes the pots as they are.....

500 & 1000 buckets are different sizes..

Im sure thats right...

It says on he spec of some of the Hive 1000cc heater specs on suppliers lists that it can be used for direct insertion of pots. Anyone confirm or deny this for us?

I was wondering if i could use a 500cc replacement pot in the 1000cc heater if I wanted?

Oh, dont know then, we were advised that the 1000 was too hot to place them in....

Hmmmm confused !

Hive of Beauty LTD

\have a read on there it doesnt specify that the 1000 can or cant be used with the plastic pots...

It tells you that the 500 can..

I'm emailing them with my list of questions LOL I'll track down the answers if it's the last thing I do! xx

I use a 1000cc heater (not by Hive though) and I insert my pots directly into the metal container. It's on all day and I've never had a problem (touch wood!) :)

Sorry to butt in but just thought I'd say that I have the 1000cc Hive wax heater and you cannot place plastic pots directly in. I picked it up by mistake (meant to get the one where you can put the pots directly in but boyfriend was comapling I was taking too long in the wholesaler ). Just trying to decide if I want to keep this one and use it for the time being & get a 500cc later on or just to take it back now.

The downside is definitely the fact that you have to pour the wax out of the pot that it comes in. You cant change wax as easily unless you buy spare inner containers.
