I have a quick question... when using colored / glitter gels or color / glitter acrylic - do you guys generally charge more? I have nothing to compare it to, as NO other tech around here uses these (they all use either nail polish or airbrush). I'm not charging any different than I would if I'm doing a regular pink and white set (or fill) - Is this ok, or should I be charging a higher price?

Your response is much appreciated!

I would DEFINITELY be charging more, dear. particularly if you are the only one in your area that is currently offering it. Always remember that anything custom costs more. Not only are colored gels generally a bit more expensive and glitters cost money too, it's your talent that creates the art on the nails. Charge accordingly. :)

Are you talking about a single colour overlay or using the colours for nail art?

I'm talking about just a single color overlay. I always charge more of nail art.. sry I wasn't more clear on that.

I don't tend to charge more...applying gel is applying gel...whether its clear/pink or coloured.

If someone usually has french and wants glitter instead of white then i charge the same also...applying a white gel and applying a glitter gel takes the same time and effort.

The only things i charge more for are things that either cost me more or take me longer.

I agree - I charge the same for a colour overlay as I do for a french.

I agree with this as well, hence the reason I've been doing just that - but I came across something on another site that got me thinking if that was the norm or not. Thanks for your responses guys!

Personally i would charge more. The pots i get are that extra bit dearer than the normal everyday french polish look. And your offereing something different so i would charge a bit more. on my new price lists im only charging £2.00 more but that little more will cover the extra cost of the coloured acrylic... hope it helps x
