What's better? Hot Stone or Sweedish Massage?

Other half and I are going for a massage on Sunday. We've both never had a massage before and don't know which one to go for.

We both want to feel totally relaxed after. Both probably got lots of knots that need seen to. :green:

Thanks

If hot stone massage is applied properly, I would choose that. The combination of the heat & depth of penetration by the stones will easily work out knots, and is one of the best massage sensations you can have! Many stone therapists will also include some manual massage to work the smaller groups of muscles that are more tricky with stones & also to apply petrissage movements.

def hot stone it is so relaxing its unreal. I had never had a hot stone massage until i did the course its to die for

Totally agree with the other geeks. Hot stone is amazing.

Oh definitely hot stone, it's lush :D

Thanks for the feedback guys.

Think we'll be going for hot stone then. Oh, I can't wait until Sunday. :green:

problem is, if you have hot stone as your first experience, it will ruin you to having swedish massage in the future!

enjoy!

It's unanimous! Hot Stone, done properly, is AMAZING!!!

Martin is right on - the heat melts deep into your body and ... aaahhh ... gosh, I'm jealous! I need one!

I was fortunate to take the class and was taught by the founder of "La Stone Therapy", Mary Nelson. Of all the hot stone massages I have had, no one has done the technique the way she teaches. At first, I was insulted that therapists would not take the time (and money) to learn properly, but after several years, I have calmed down and realize that putting your touch on it is okay. HOWEVER - the stones must be at the correct temperature - and the technique, in it's most basic form, is to go SLOW & DEEP. If the therapist is using light effleurage strokes, they were not trained, and that is NOT hot stone massage.

Let us know, please, what you enjoy and how the experience was for you both!

both are really nice - only problem i have with swedish is that you would be covered with only 1 towel so my feet are always sticking out, and then cold. So first thing is to ask the therapist before they start to cover your feet as they do get cold in a massage. I love love love massage and love to be snug.

Enjoy
oh ask them to do your head aswell - yum

Not my swedish massage you dont everyone is always snuggly and warm i hate cold massages and would never in flict them on anyone else. One towel is not a requirement of a swedish massage thats the therapist being mean.

Ive never had a stone massage and never learnt them but i hear they are wonderful i don't think i have enough room to do them in my little room i understand you have to have bowls of cold water and places to cool your stones as well as the stove so ive never learnt it.

Appointment changed to hot stood. :green:

Only thing is they couldn't do them side by side so we're one after the other. I don't mind. I'll relax in their lounge area after my massage. He'll probably just arrive in time for his appointment.
