I ahve been asked to do a set of hollywood toes (acrylic) on a client which i have done in the past.

The only thing that is bothering me is that lately I have been hearing that this treatment can result in loosing your whole nail because of the tension its put under being in shoes for most of the day.

Has anybody heard anything similar??

Cheers

Kat

I never had such a problem. Neiher i heard about it. I would probably suggest to do gel rather than L&P and also make sure I was not applying product too thick, and would not make toe nails too long.

IMHO

hope this helps:hug:

I've had/done both gel and LP toes and nothing ever happened.
They weren't too thick or too long... just overlayed.

I agree with Nataliya, as long as you dont extend the free edge, or make the nail to thick there shouldnt be a problem. I prefer to use gel on toes tho..xx

I have had a client that this happened too but it wasn't the fault of the nail overlays...it was the fault of the client for allowing her nails to grow so long.

Because people have their toes done and love it so much they tend to want to keep them for as long as possible....and so don't cut their toe nails as often as they normally would.

I always cut /file the toe nails very short and then overlay them...this way they last longer and always do the overlays nice and thin. I tell clients that they MUST keep the nails so that they do not grow over the toes.

Hi,
There was a thread about this not long ago.. I remeber some techs says that it was only a problem when the client left their nails for 8 or 9 weeks..
Also jsut to add I used to get in grown toe nails on the big toes.... not any way.. the L & P must just keep it from turning in.,. I do mine every 5 weeks ( or when i get bored) and they are great.. people notice them.. almost half of my reg nail clients are now getting their toes done too...

Just give them after care advise and you will be fine
X Mel

I am a guy but I actually have a french gel overlay on my toes believe it or not. My aftercare leaflets are also my price lists so when they read it they often ask what gel toes are and now I can show them. As soon as they see them they book in for some!! I use L&P for fingers but love gel for toes and never had this problem. hth
