Hi all, I posted this on the Minx group board but no luck so I thought I'd try it out here.

I'm about to set up a home based salon and was just wondering if any other home/mobile therapists have a lot of call for it? I've read lots of threads and every body seems to love them and do a lot of them in salons but nobody says about the home based popularity? Is it worth the investment or should I wait until I build up my business a bit?

How many of you have gone to the demo and do you think its worth it? I wanted to go to one but its on a really awkward day so I don't know what to do?

Thanks guys

Does the lack of replies mean that nobody uses them outside of a salon?

Hi I do, mostly on friends and family at the moment but i am hoping that will change when the winter has passed and I start getting more clients !

Its very easy to apply and gives great results. The set up costs are more than reasonable and give a good return. Even just doing friends and family i'm not out of pocket and have made back the money i invested.

Hope this helps

Yup, doing great so far with them in the home salon.

Havent done it mobile yet as I find the lamp pretty clumsy.

Yes it does help, thanks! Did you go to one of the demo days or did you just pick it up?
Thanks again.

I brought the kit and did it myelf then went for a one to one, im a worry wort lol.

I'm home based. Bought the kit and went from there. Lots of sets done during summer and Autumn and a few over Christmas. Very popular. I recommend you go for it now so your ready for spring/summer. Wear them yourself and put up a Minx poster. Most of my clients asked for it after seeing it on my toes. Hope that helps. :)

Hi there

I'm offering Minx on a mobile basis as well so your not alone. I've had a lot of interest in Minx. I went on the training course, got a load of minx designs and brought a heat lamp off Amazon because I got told that the lamp inlcuded in the kit was a bit clumsy.

The best way to advertise it is to wear it yourself. You will get so many people asking you about them at the supermarket etc and just then hand them your business card.

Good luck

if you don't mind me asking, did you just type in infrared heat lamp? if they are clumsy i might be as well going for something a little more robust as i am also mobile!

There are a number of small white infra red lamps on Amazon, 150w bulb, is it one of these that you bought?

I am a home based tech and I use Minx Alot. It's very very popular!!
Go for it Girl! :)

i totally agree with gattia! i got many clients through wearing them! im not doing any at the moment. I work mobile! once it gets a little warm ill start wearing them again and hopefully they will sell again! x

It will have been a quiet few weeks for minx because i know everyone was minxing like crazy for xmas and toes will certainly be still looking shiney and new.
Clever minxers have been snapping up the Trailing Hearts minx etc this week and putting out their valentines promotions ready for a toe re-minx offer for Valentines to start things off again.

I just typed in heat lamp. Its a little one by phillips. Only problem with it is it doesn't have a slider so you can control the heat intensity, its just on and off. Some of the ones you can get have to be clamped onto a table and if your mobile I doubt many clients would be happy with this. :)

Oooooo what a great idea!!!!:)

You can get a base unit to freestand the minx lamp from Sweetsquared or from its Creative Academys countrywide, it is quite weighted though to carry around mobile.

No, i agree, a small, plain and simple heat lamp will do the job for me! i was just wondering what wattage is is though? I would like to get one with the same intensity as the minx one!

HI,is anyone based in or near Fleet in Hampshire that does Minx?
I would love to have a set done before investing in doing a course.
