Just finished a course on Hopi Ear Candles. Wondering where everyone buys them from and which ones are the best to use?
How many of you actually offer Hopi Ear treatment?
I had it done on me and found it really relaxing. And amazed what came out of my ear. X

Hello

Biosun is probably the most popular hopi ear candles and can be bought from most beauty suppliers, also good deals online.

I agree it's a very relaxing treatment and results are great. I worked at a salon a couple of years ago, hopi isn't well known to clients, I think it's hard to promote just by itself, but combining it with other treatments works wonders. People also try it out of curiosity.

Essie :)

Hi.

I tend to buy mine from Erevital and use the Biosun Hopi Ear Candles.

Ear candling is a subject which has previously created loads of replies on this site. Personally, they worked for me, and subsequently I trained to use them. They "cured" (yes "cured" eventually) head pressure which a hospital consultant could not help with. However, some people find it hard to understand the benefits. I feel that although some people may have TRIED it, they haven't NEEDED it, and hence can't FEEL the benefit. Each to their own I suppose but I remain totally convinced they work.

However, I don't know with whom you trained but nothing comes out of your ears! I never tell my clients this (even though this may have lost me business). Any residue that looks like wax is purely residue from inside the beeswax candle as it burns. There is no chimney effect which can draw wax up from your ear canal and into the candle. The warm air that circulates the ear, nose and throat canal though can help soften wax and relieve mucus.

Do a little test - burn a candle on its own in a glass, open up the candle and you may well still find residue inside - candle residue.

As I understand it a previous ear candle thread opened a right old can of worms - with believers and non-believers - and eventually the thread went on that long it was shut down.

Hope this helps.

I also buy from Revital, Im a registered therapist and get them from a store very close so no postage costs.

There's a fantastic book by Andrew Sceats that Ive found so useful in understanding HEC, the training I got was very subjective but this book really helped me.

do you have to be qualified in this or can you just carry this out on the client?

Like all treatments, you're not insured unless you've had the proper training - not good for yourself of the client!

Also you wouldnt know how to interpret the interior of the candle to help the client understand how their ears etc are functioning, how effective the treatment was and give them guideance on what steps they should take (if any) next.

Thankyou for all your suggestions. I am certainly looking forward to using the treatment.
I trained with Seascape, with a trained professional in Hopi Indian Head and Hot Stones.
When I had the treatment done we opened up the candles to see the residue. Most of it was the residue from the candle there was also some small deposits of wax. After the treatment I felt very relaxed and tired. I think there are two sides to the treatment, the relaxing and cleansing side then there is the spiritual side to the treatment. Every persons treatment will be totally unique.
I agree you do need to train in treatment such as these so as you now the treatment fully theory and practical.
