Hi all i have been using hot wax for a good while use strip for legs etc but hot always on more sensitive areas. Problem is i'm not really confident with it on bikini area/underarm does anyone have any tips. i have seen alot of talk about oil would this help when using hot wax. I use a diposable spatula for this as i was taught but is this the best thing. any advice welcome:hug::hug:

Hi There,

I have just finished my training using hot wax and a spatula. just keep it spinning so that the wax doesn't drip everywhere, make sure it is not too hot and runny. use the spatual long ways rather than trying to get it as you would do a leg as your working on a smaller/tighter area. brace your client get them to pull tight and you pull the upper leg area really tight and as fast as you can go.......

THis is what I have been doing. Also if your client doesn't mind talc use this as it also helps and makes it less painful. make sure your client is ok with the talc though as some are funny about using it.

Hi hun, cleanse the area as normal, then apply oil from company of your choice, blot any excess and apply the hot wax in a leaf shape. I originally did thin strips downwards. But found by creating a leaf shape, u get all your edges to the right thickness for removal. Obviously u aim for a straight line so make sure the shape has a straight ish edge to give a good finish. Work with small amounts of wax at a time. Hold the skin not the body and remove in 1, 2, 3 rather than all in one go, but follow up with your hand always supporting
hope this helps hun

Thanks geeks i will defo give the oil a go and jen the leaf is the next mission!:hug:

Ensure that the skin is taut when applying the wax too, and that the hair is firmly ensnared in the wax.

Oil first
Stetch when you apply and stretch when you remove
Apply long strip but remove in 3 short, sharp pulls
Place your hand on the area to ease it
Apply soothing gel after

thanks kim would that be long thick or thin strips you would recommend!!!:hug::hug:

Hold the spatula as if it's a sculpting knife and not sideways the way you would for strip waxing. Take a large scoop of wax and wipe the wax off the spatula onto the top of the crease of the leg, spreading it downwards with the tip of the spatula. As it's in the crease, you'll find that it will generally end up about 1.5 inches to 2 inches wide. As you get to the bone, throw your spatula, get a new one and re-load, then apply more wax until you've gone beyond the last hair. Now you have one long strip about 10 inches long.

REMEMBER! You are now going to remove this is three, short, sharp pulls and NOT one long pull. Let us know how it goes. Ask away if that hasn't explained it and I'll try again. xxx
