I am currently decorating my beauty room while this crisis is going on. I read somewhere that making it Instagram worthy will encourage people to take selfies this encouraging more clients. So just painted it pink still need to do the ceiling and skirting i did it backwards and I might even paint the door a light blue. I'm getting a new nail desk which is smaller and rearranging the bed to create more space. My beauty room is absolutely tiny so any advice on Creating space be great. But I feel like I've been at this way too long now to not be making a living out of it. Im wondering am I just bad at my job. I'm terrible at gel nails and eyelash extensions I spent a fortune on new eyelash stuff and I still can't get them to last. I'm considering trying acrylic. I'm good at shellac, lash lifts and waxing. I would love if I could build up clients for these however most people on my area are asking do I do gel nails and lash extensions. I go to a lady for my waxing and she doesn't offer gel nails or lash extensions and she's doing great for herself I would love to be busy all the time I don't know where I'm going wrong. My Spraytans I love doing but somehow the hands are coming out too dark. Basically I need help in all areas of the business I feel like I'm losing a lost cause

It can feel daunting at the beginning and it will take time. From your post I would suggest:
Push the shellac, lash lifts and waxing as that is where you feel confident. Offer the other treatments at lower prices asking for models to improve. One thing I learned over the years (over 35 lol!) is this - you feel you have to offer more to get more clients in, but this is a false assumption. Just think there are ladies that just offer waxing, just offer lashes, threading etc. If you do not have enough clients the message is not reaching them. Make use of social media and a website and get regular at posting. Make your space as inviting as possible and make sure you come across friendly and competent and it will soon get going.

Hey im new to it all aswell been going since xmas and i was really busy then before lockdown i was so quite. Made me feel rubbish when i was seeing everyone doing so well and i had spent so much money but getting no where. I felt like giving up so much. But we are just beginers and our time will come. On instagram i look at other peoples nail work now and it inspires me to practise so when we can re open hopefully will start to build up more of a client base. Your not alone it takes years to build up a buisness you will get there xx

I am working in beauty 18 yrs now, and am only setting up my own home studio now too. Like everyone I've strong points and not so strong points. I've decided I'm going to specialise and push the treatments I'm great at and enjoy only. There will always be someone who asks for something different. But I think if you focus on your niche, you will get known for that and will do well.. Eventually you can extend services if you really want xx

Thanks guys we're all in this together
