id eventually like to teach makeup and possibly eyelash extensions (havent trained in the later yet though, lol) through college, private 1-1 courses, workshops and even perhaps open a makeup school (way down the line, lol)
i have an nvq in foundation makeup and am planning to do lots more training, just wondered how i went about eventually learning to pass my skills on .. is there a specific teacher training course for the beauty profession and are nvq's enough to get you in?
any help or advice would be appreciated

Hiya,

To start with you need level 3 in the subjects you wish to teach and at least 5 years industry experience. From then you start with a city and guilds course 7303 called 'preparing to teach in the lifelong learning sector' (PTTLS)...it is a 10 week course to give you an introduction into teaching (I have just started this at my local college)...following that you can then go on to do the 'Certificate Of Education' (cert ed) either at Uni or at college...full or part-time..this can be done 'on the job' so to speak as you have to have a placement or teaching hours to practice on students. If you do a search on here you should find out lots of info, and also get in touch with your local college...they will be able to point you in the right direction.

Good luck,

Sarah x
