serve your clients with tea/coffee/any drink?

I work alone so nobody but me to make drinks for my clients & i do not have a kitchen area so would like to have a sort of self serve area iykwim, (not in a motorway cafe way;)) I am torn between a coffee percolator thats heated but I would need to leave milk etc out or a tassimo thingy(which sounds good because I dont have to wait for a kettle to boil, so making my treatments run behind!!!), or even just a kettle:o with nice pots/ containers for all the bits & peices but am worried it may get messy, I'm not talking large volumes here - it would be just whilst one client is waiting whilst I see my previous client out or for during those treatments when a drink is possible - & because I dont have a kitchen/staff room area it will be on show so needs to look nice any suggestions

Thanks

Cath x

Get yourself a coffee perculator whack it on in the morn it smells beaut when clients come in, when i 1st started i just had a shelf behind my desk with it on, lots of clean cups, sugar, and coffee mate and a discrate wash up bowl to put dirtys in till you have a spare second to wash.......noone to make it for you??? come on girl get over yourself lol it takes two ticks to say hi do u want a coffee? milk? sugar? pour it stir it and your away, it shows your client that you care, surely you would offer your friends a drink if they came to your house so why not your clients, after all she is paying your wages!
hope this helps, good luck x

not tea though it takes too long for kettle lol xx

Thanks for that - I am not adverse to making coffee myself - that isnt how I meant it to sound, was just looking for advice on how other people who work alone manage without taking to much time away from their clients/treatments or having drink preparation make you run over your times x thanks for your advice tho x

I work in a sunbed shop and it just me n the owner.. but as she's on reception all day, so i cant ask her to do my drinks! as i always runnin tight schedule with nails and tans.....

no affensive intended towards you hun (guess its just my SOH)
I know exactely what you mean on the time scale, my full set s and rebalances are on the hour every hour most days so i know what its like when you've got a client waiting etc x

you could get one of those 'one cup kettles' it boils exactly a cup of water in 40 seconds so nice and easy for clients to make a tea or a coffee as they like it! i wouldnt get plastic cups tho id prefer proper cups if i were i client! x

I've got one of those thingies that boils a cup of water in 5 seconds. It makes a bit of a noise but its really quick. Cannot think of what its called for the life of me.

Re the coffee smelling lovely when you walk in, that's only to some.

Personally, I hate coffee and the very smell of it, I can't even stand sitting at the same table as someone drinking it but in the spa I need to address and although not a single operator this would suit your need, I have Keurig unit which you can get zillions of choice for and it doesn't smell so much, also lots of teas and chocolate to choose from too.

Keurig machine do you use? Do your clients just do it their self?

Cant remember the model number off hand, something like office pro or the likes. It's not a home model as such although they do have a few if you want something along those line, you can also get more hotel/inroom type models too.

I try to make the drinks just because I am a neat freak but the clients can help themselves if I am not available in the relaxation area.

You can also buy a carousel and all sorts of wee accessories to go with it.

My initial outlay with some KCups was about $200 so about £125 although it is dearer than kettle, percolator etc it works for me in my place and is tidier all round.

we have a tassimo machine and UHT milk and little packets of sugar! nice and works a treat! x

I have a home salon so it's just me to make the teas/coffees. I have a decent kettle that boils in about a minute. I think my clients actually like having a couple of minutes at the start of the service to sit down and catch their breath. I think it's sad if we can't build a few minutes into our service times to make clients a cuppa
