How long will my nails last?

My clients keep asking me and I never know exactly how to answer:eek:

Also the more clients I do the more horror stories I hear. My last client had exzema and she told me she was in pain and bleeding everytime she left the salon:mad: She couldnt believe how gentle I was.

Another girl I had told me the last time she had acrylics done the lady insisted she wanted porcelin, which of course is just acrylic and they charge more. Luckily she was smart and refused.

Just makes me sick what goes on out there:irked:

Hello it sound to me like these clients went to the nss. I always say to my clients that they will need to be maintained every two to three weeks. And as long as they look after them they can have them on as long as they want. I tell them to ring me if they get a break or anything, most dont ever get a break but accidents do happen. I give them lots of aftercare and a leaflet with it all the information on. I think if there is NSS in your area you need to educate the clients about MMA etc. I am so so lucky because there is no NSS in the small town I live in. However I still educate my clients incase they go on holiday or something and go in one bye mistake. Hope this helps you xxxx

My normal answer to this is 'it differs from person to person and depends on how fast your nails grow' most people need infills within 2-3 weeks although there are those 'lucky' people (in terms of extensions) that can go 4 weeks before a infill is needed.

Nails will last forever as long as your clients returns for maintenance when needed. Explain that maintenance is between 2-3 weeks and some are an exception to the rule. The longer (time) you wear nails, the more you know about how long you can go before service breakdown and also you will know your clients limitations.
If they use the oil, have hand lotions and a buffer in their arsenal than you know they are a good client who will look after your nails outside of the salon. you have to pick up on what your clients say to you, if they are erring on NSS then give them that style of nail.

The way I answer this question is by saying "they last as long as you want them to" as long as you make 2/3 weekly maintenance appointments.
