Now Mrs Geek, 'chelle and Kirsten at CND can all back me up on this as they have seen it in real life bit I am pants with confidence and myself! The 3 said ladies are wonderful and have put up with me up till now especially Kirsten and 'chelle as they really have had to deal with the real me!

Now put me with animals and in any situation I am super confident, put me with a hospital trauma and again I am super confident but with everything else I am pants.

I do not like myself and so this in itself is a serious complication - I am really putting myself out there to you and bearing my soul saying this to you! I really do wish I had confidence and wonder how you all deal with yourself and confidence.

I have read your posts and blogs...seen questions and replies....and have never not once thought you sounded anything but great !!

The way we see ourself is not always how others do....personality...appearance...everything.

When you feel yourself getting anxious just keep telling yourself that. What ever bad you think people think of you...i bet they ain't.

I believe that confidence comes from within...and that it can be faked...(not a bad thing)...but you have to believe that you are....

If you walk down the street, head high, shoulders back...telling yourself that you look and feel great...thats how others will see you.

But...if you slouch, feel miserable and tell yourself that you ain't worthy...others will see that in you.

You are so worthy babes. xx

It will come with experience hun,
the more sets you do the better you will get and then one day VERY SOON you will say to yourself,
"do you know what i really enjoy doing nails and i am good at doing them too"
when you say this to yourself it will all fall into place for you,
none of us think we are good and we all strive to be better at what we do, so you are certainly on the right path to gaining your confidence,
i felt exactly the same when i had done my foundation course so i threw myself in at the deep end and rented a space in a salon two weeks after qualifying,
it was a case of sink or swim but it worked for me,
i used to be such a shy person but you would never believe it if you met me now

This is the voice of experience speaking here - PRETEND that you are confident, even if inside you are shaking like a leaf and want to cry, just pretend. If you say something with enough confidence people will believe you. And you will find that over time you do actually become more confident. Trust me, it works. I still get times when I want to chuck it all in and just go and hide away, but nowhere near as much as I used to. You do just have to keep going and keep trying.

I honestly don't think there is an answer to that question - if there was none of us would have problems! I think faking it is a great idea, and also you say you're cool with animals and hospital traumas......how about spending a little bit more time doing the things you know you can cope with? I know you want to be a great tech and I have every faith in you that you will be, but nails are not the only thing in the world - it's good to have a hobby too!
I think if you try to put yourself in situations you know you can deal with every so often your confidence will improve no end xx

Hi Mrs R

I know where you are comng from, one day I think yeah Ive got this and the next day im thinking OMG I cant do this....

I am having to push myself every step of the way, I too have a room opening on 17th May, only 2-3 weeks after I qualify (if I qualify).... (when i qualify) !!

Confidence doesnt come easy but you have to believe in yourself and make others think that you are confident.....

It has been just under 2 months since I started training (last day this friday), I have to remain positive and confident in what I am doing as this is for the rest of my life.

My nails are nowhere near perfect but in the short time I have been doing this I have seen a huge improvement in my work and Im sure if you look at your progress card you too will see a huge difference, this itself should give you confidence in yourself and in what you are doing xxxx

Fake it til you make it. Works for me (most of the time).

Keep at it...

It does get easier... each set you do you will see your time getting down and your application will be smoother.

One day you will do a set of nails and you will want to show the world how fab they are!

xx

This is so true, if you look as though you know what you are doing, saying etc - people have faith and respond accordingly. This gives you the boost you need and a 'little voice' will tell you that you DO know what you are doing and you are a professional.
